1. Why isn't the fact that the Bush Administration is still leaning on |
|
people, not a story in itself? Who's doing the leaning? Is it Andy Card? Rove? What's going on in this country that the cover-ups are now the conventionally acceptable way to run a country?

That once was held up as an example of bad deeds. It seems that they engaged in all of the very practices that we now use regularly. How strange.

4. So what? Coast Guard patrols water, not the docks.... |
|
What a bunch of crap Bush keeps spinning. He tries to make it sound like CC guys are on 24/7 patrol of every container that gets dropped off on a dock. BULLSHIT,they have nothing to do with that part of security.
Nice try chimp,no wonder your ratings are at 34%.

5. We should be familiar with this strategy by now... |
|
During the runup to the Alito confirmation, C-Span invited many conservatives as guests. You could see there was a real push on by the government and that C-Span was complicit. When the National Security Agency scandal blew, C-Span had many conservative government guests on to defend the program. Again, they were complicit. I don't imagine this scandal will result in anything different from C-Span.

|
Edited on Tue Feb-28-06 08:33 AM by C_U_L8R
was how long will it take until the Bush Regime clamps down on these folks... I'm sure the venom was flying.. and it doesn't seem like it took too long.
I understand that these people are threatened and fear for their very safety and livilhoods... but I really pray for a brave whistleblower to step forward to help put an end to this madness ....and this mad administration.

8. I Truly Truly Want To DO SOMETHING!! |
|
Listening to these two jokers, Jayson Ahearn & Rear Admr. Thomas Gilmore sure sounds like they've been told to "walk the line!"
They aren't even actually answering most of the questions pertinent to Congress and the "real deal" behind the scenes. Saying that actions by Congress will have to be directed to them!
Well now, it seems we KNOW the Repukes are going to roll! Barring a few vocal Repukes, there will be NO Veto over-ride!!! And all of our "rantings" here or the "rantings" of the American people have no effect. The Congressmen and Senators sitting right now will go along and in 45 days this will ALL BLOW OVER! As it ALWAYS does!!!

all across the world? Oh, wait--we already did that, trying to prevent a pre-emptive war in Iraq. The only way we can change things is to work for change at the ballot box. (AND we have to change the ballot box!)

13. The newspaper article was from a |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-28-06 10:09 AM by igil
couple of days ago, citing the declassified paragraph from a longer report from a month or so ago. I was surprised to find that the Coast Guard had an intelligence unit; I was vaguely pleased that there were questions that its intelligence unit couldn't answer. I'd dislike having a few dozen omniscient intelligence units in the US.
The spin has been consistently that this paragraph represented the state of Coast Guard Intelligence's thinking as of the date of publication of the newspaper article, while the article itself had the Coast Guard saying that it didn't even reflect CG thinking as of the date the report was issued. This is plausible, given the non-omniscience of any one intelligence service. You go over what you think you need answered; if you can't answer it, you raise questions; you get answers to your questions, and decide if the answers are satisfactory.
However, fear and righteous indignation sell papers and win elections, so the knights of the sound-bite win the day. And show themselves benighted, instead of knighted.

they are the only functioning group in America's defense system that can help in case of a natural disaster....
If I were a betting person I would say that all of their funding was threatened or their organization would be folded into another...
Nothing but arm twisting and threats from these * cabal traitors....
