Sometimes you wonder if Bush is the Woodshed and his base
the people who need to grow up.

You have to wonder about all of Christianity... and how it put off credit for 2 thousand years due to biblical dislike of "usury". Think of the poverty created by the lack of credit. Those dark ages were really foul.

I'm thinking of the infantilization of the populous during the fight on communism too. America could not tolerate any leftists. It was either black or white. Ask people in many countries of the southern hemisphere...(or simply south of the USA & Europe) when would they have preferred to start democracy. Many countries would say "with the leftists who won the first elections 60 years ago".

I'm thinking of those people who spoke out in the aftermath of Katrina and said "well - it has been historically put off but now would be a good time for America to take ownership of slavery, civil rights and racism - because these issues are making Americans sick. And if americans don't know themselves, how can they possibly move ahead into the next millennium".

I'm thinking of how WWII is characterized as "we kicked Hitler's ass" as opposed to the tragic sacrifice it was and how late the USA showed up. One thing for sure - the wisdom of the surviving Jewish elders didn't let the Holocaust simply slip away. That was dealt with and talked about. And that truth is known by all - even by the Iranians demonstrate an acute historical understanding of the Holocaust - though they choose to use the info as bait for some reason.

Simply put, you get the administration that you deserve. The selfish & power-hungry come out to meet an infantilized Mercain base. They are like bookends. The only people who have use for infantilizing a population are those who want total and absolute control of the outcome. And what do they do as a first step when they are near or have power? They try and create the systems to infantilize their base some more.

The good news? This base is shrinking. Reality is sinking in. This time - the crazies picked on the wrong persons.
