Some good news from this weekend -- Marcy Winograd's
primary campaign against incumbent war-monger Jane Harman got a significant boost this weekend, as the California Democratic Party declined to give Harman a preliminary endorsement. Winograd had already secured the endorsement of SoCal Grassroots and blocking Harman's endorsement, which had been expected up until about one month ago, is a HUGE victory.

Note that the California Democratic Convention which convenes later may still vote to endorse Harman. (At the Convention, it's more difficult for grass-roots organizing to make a difference). But all of us who precinct walked for Marcy this weekend had our spirits lifted.

If you would like to learn more about Marcy's campaign, you can check out Marcy's website at WinogradforCongress.com.

1. Marcy's fantastic and would be a terrific, qualified Representative.
I've met her a few times and seen her at work. She's the type of person California needs stepping up to the plate.

We need more women like her in office***

2. I agree 100%. I met her personally for the first time two weeks
ago, when she showed up to meet a small group of precinct walkers. Given Harman's unwillingness to even respond to my emails and calls (mainly about the Iraq War, but now also about illegal wiretapping), the contrast was breath-taking and awe-inspiring.

Then, on Sunday, I heard her on my Pacifica affiliate (KPFK 90.7) and she demonstrated that she has the ability to cut through all of Harman's B.S. scare tactics and "cut to the chase."

I plan to keep on volunteering for Marcy up to and beyond the primary (assuming she wins the primary, of course).

3. Cool!
Harmon had been an incredible disappointment to me -- she either needs to go or wake the hell up.
