LOL, I'm surprised McCain agreed to speak on the Daily Show |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 10:22 PM by Heaven and Earth
about giving the commencement address at Liberty University. He looked really bad repeating his single talking point that "he'll give the same message he gives around the country". He looked like every other politician trying to avoid answering a question. I think I saw his angelic glow start to fade.
It's good that the Daily show is giving McCain's ass-kissing of radicals like Jerry Falwell coverage. If his rating falls with Democrats, I think he's finished as a viable candidate, because I don't know if the radical rightists will accept him, even with the ass-kissing.

2. He did it for one reason only--he knows he's in hot water |
|
And I thought it was kind of tacky of him to mock Cynthia McKinney.

I'm sure you've seen or heard about his segment on Crossfire, th last thing he is, is a partisan. He makes fun of both sides, the reason he makes fun of more Republicans is not because he's a Liberal but because Republicans are in power.

3. He ran the shitass excuse about talking to everyone up the flagpole |

on MEET TIMMY RUSSERT and did not get his ass handed to him. So he thought he could try it in another forum. It didn't go as well as he hoped, I suspect.

5. I Actually Thought McCain Helped Himself a Lot |
|
He seemed to have a real rapport with Jon, and even elicited the comment "Don't make me love you." What he said was not as important as the way he said it -- that's what people remember. McCain showed the ability to talk across the aisle, to banter, and not to sound like a robot on message. It's not a lot, but it's better than you get from most Republicans these days.
