5. LOL... Yeah, he has a great name to be mayor of Anchorage..
But he's an idiot as far as his politics go..

Our very liberal Democratic Mayor will be kissing babies and cutting ribbons for many more years to come!

6. I'll join you in that yay!
A Dem mayor was elected in the city next door to mine. What's cool is that it's in the middle of Sensenbrenner's district mind you.

10. It's not... they vote for presidents by WHO WILL VOTE FOR OIL DRILLING
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 02:18 AM by larissa
Three things get you elected here:

1. You have to be PRO-CHOICE
2. You have to be PRO-DRILLING
3. You have to be PRO-GUNS RIGHTS

And you can get elected as a Democrat JUST as easily as a Thug.

They haven't yet found a Democratic candidate for president that wants to drill ANWR, so there you go.

11. CONGRATULATIONS, ANCHORAGE! But this doesn't make Diebold
elections any more transparent. We have to figure they might let a few Democrats win--maybe even give us some breaks in Congress (but you can be sure it won't be even close to a majority). They have to protect their "TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY vote tabulation for the long term--and what better way to do it than to take the steam out of the election reform movement by throwing a few little sops to the majority.

I DO think that large turnouts can overcome the Diebold/ES&S thumb on the scales for Bushites and warmongers, in some cases. We mustn't despair. But NON-TRANSPARENT elections, with the secret programming owned and controlled by Bushite corporations, is insanely unacceptable.
