Meredith Vieira to replace Katie Couric? |
|
Heard this on CBS news this pm. "perky" Meredith? Shallow replacing shallow? I've switched to NBC Nightly News since the hurricane. They have done a good job of covering Katrina stuff. I don't watch Katie now, and I doubt I'll watch her in the future.

2. Apparently so. Anyone would be an improvement over Couric on Today. |

I rarely ever watch the evening news broadcasts and I never watch the Today show.
I have found that the middle of the night to very early morning CBS (or is it ABC?) news broadcast is pretty good. I suppose the network executives figure that not too many people are paying attention at 3 AM in the morning.
HI BOSS! :hi:

6. The CBS news show in the middle |
|
of the night is the only one I can begin to stand. I did occasionally tune in to CBS Evening News but never ever again. Nope, I would not put myself through Katie, she makes my skin crawl as a "news person".

10. Me, too. What sickens me more is that she's also joining "60 Minutes" |
|
What, Katie, an INVESTIGATIVE reporter? With lines like "Navy seals ROCK"? GIMME AN EFFING BREAK!

14. I'll never turn it on |

again. Seriously. I would dearly love for a woman, a serious woman who knows her stuff, to do this. I really don't care, man or woman except that this light weight choice will set women back years I am afraid. "See, they just can't handle it. Best off doing entertainment and oohing and aahing over the latest famous bachelor. We gave them a chance but, Oh well."
Not only women, it will set news broadcasting back just when we need it.

But I'm sure her 15 million dollar contract will ease her pain.
How are you doing CB? Tomorrow is our anniversary. I'm taking my sweety for a day in the quarter on Saturday. Weather forecast looks good. We are just gonna have a nice stroll and pig out on seafood and enjoy the day. I'll let her meander through some of the nice shops down by the farmers market and pick out what she wants. We will eat at either Lucy's Retired Surfers Restaurant Lounge on Tchoupatoulas or at Landry's on Decatur.

9. 15 million dollars? Wow! That is whole lot of money. |

I'm fine. The spring weather is beautiful, I found my lost deaf kitty cat, Mr. CB is great, work is going well, and flowering trees and shrubs and flowers here are beautiful! My Carolina Jessamine (Gelsimium sempervirens) is in full bloom! The yellow flowers are spectacular! :hi: Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs. BH! :toast: Y'all are going to have a great time in the quarter! I'm getting hungry just thinking about those great restaurants. ;)
My LA sister-in-law is still in KY with our sick nephew who is slowly getting better. :) We want to come down as soon as she returns. I don't think we can hold out much longer!
Peace. CB

I don't watch her on television very much. In person, I have never heard her say anything conservative.

4. Meredith Viera is smart |
|
compassionate and well rounded. She has much to recommend her and is a whole person, not just a perky personality.

11. I gained new respect for her after hearing about her husband's ordeal |
|
He had (has?) some debilitating disease that struck him down all of a sudden. I think she wrote a book about how she handled that crisis.

12. Why Not Campbell Brown?..... |
|
I thought NBC was grooming her for Katie's job. What happened? She's got the right political pursuasion. She just married Dan Senor of Iraq War fame.
