and stayed in his race, however, I'm just glad the guy is gone. Sure, it may have been a useful political tactic to have the guy to beat on, but who is to say what would have happened in his race. The guy is a longtime incumbent, in a district that is far-right enough to continue to vote for the guy no matter what, so why risk him staying in office? Even if a Republican wins the next election, anybody is better than DeLay. Sure, it would be great to get a Dem in there, but I at least thank God that this vile excuse for a human being is no longer in Congress.

He's an effective Albatross to weigh down the Repubs, for sure. Nothing like being able to use a corrupt guy like that as the symbol of the party, but I think Dems can do a lot of winning this midterm election, even without DeLay around. I'm just glad the guy is gone. I'd rather have him gone out of office for good, then to deal with him anymore. It's a good day now that this man is leaving. For the people of our country, not just for political strategy. I think that is the most important thing here. Now we can just work on moving on and doing great things for our country and the world. Tom DeLay running rampant in the halls of Congress is a nightmare that is now over. I'm thankful beyond words for that.

1. We can still talk about how all his cronies and machinery are still around
and that he got in so much trouble for setting them up that he was forced to leave. He's a gift that keeps on giving, like the scent of skunk.

2. I'm glad he's gone too.. And both Howard Dean and Bill Press...
..just made excellent points on why it won't make a lick of difference in the Rethug's trying to rid themselves from their "Culture of Corruption"

Bill Press was on CNN

And Howard Dean was on Hardball

And they both made excellent points on the downfall and continuing downfall of "Has-been Delay"

3. I'm drinking brew and happydancing! If he thought he had a prayer
of retaining his seat, he'd stay in it.

Delay=Defeated.

And he's one of the biggest guns they have.
