Hey dudes, we should be so happy now - where is the love?
Every poll has Kerry beating Bush. This should make us all jump up and down for joy since for the first time there is light at the end of the tunnel. Bush is beatable - Americans are waking up.

So why all the hostility towards one another?

Lets get together and kick some Republican ASS.

I understand the nomination is not a sure thing yet. Kerry hasn't won. There are other races tomorrow and Edwards and Clark may win a couple. Dean may win a couple in a few weeks.

But this should be cause for celebration.

I remember when we at DU would celebrate when Bush's popularity fell below 60% and a generic Democrat was within the margin of error.

Now our Democratic front runner is defeating him convincingly.

1. and Dean had a 30 point lead over Kerry last month
get a clue this is a manufactured pole by the "liberal media" to push a particular candidate down the throats of the dumb Dem's.

3. This is becoming a broken record

Why can't you accept that people didn't vote for Dean? He knows there's no conspiracy, so why don't you? Accusing voters of being "stupid" pawns when don't vote for your guy is highly offensive. I'm getting very tired of it, frankly. It's extremely insulting.

I'm happy about it. But that's just me. I don't hate my fellow liberals.

5. I don't need a poll to tell me that.
I'm glad the poll is saying that Kerry can beat Bush, but I firmly believe that ANY of the current Dem candidates could beat Bush! Save Lieberman, that one would be very tricky :)

You just need to know where to look!
Everyone just gets so caught up. We'll all be okay in the end, 'cause we're going to beat Bush* no matter who it is!

9. I believe that, if nominated, Kerry could win
the popular vote. He would lose the electoral vote, though.

GO WES! GO DEAN!

11. Because "The Enemy Always Gets A Vote"
And "A retreating enemy is actually just falling back and regrouping."

We need to be ready for some flanking attacks such as:

1) Drops Cheney for Powell/McCain/? <insert war 'hero' here>
2) Thaws out Osama JIT for the election (not too soon, not too late,
timing is everything)
3) US attacked, Our Great Leader invades the 'offender'
4) Bush becomes a liability to the power behind the throne, his
candidacy is terminated with extreme prejudice by the Republicans.

In other words, there is a lot that can happen between now and November. I agree, though, things are starting to look up.

13. Happy about WHAT??
Happy that Republicans who have taken over this party, posing as faux "democrats" have chosen their preferred nominee, who happens to be the weakest, most spineless candidate in the running, after only 2 states, and are now insisting that I MUST support him?

Should I be happy that a third of the elected officials in my state, a state where KERRY HAS NO FUCKING POPULAR SUPPORT, are now telling me that I MUST support him?

Should I be happy that a senator backed by the same criminals who backed Bush, and who voted for most of Bush's FASCIST BULLSHIT is being coronated with a nomination he does not deserve?

What is there to be happy about??

14. No such thing as love at a shotgun wedding or pre-arranged marriage.
That's what it feels like to me. "Here's your mate, take him, for better or worse. If you don't, I'll make you marry the chimpanzee."

The thing I dread most is seeing this race come down to a choice between the lesser of two weasels.

Weren't there similar polls for incumbants that went on to victory?

There is way too much time between the now and the election to get overjoyed about anything. Let's see how the eventual nominee holds up under the shitstorm the rethugs unleash on him and the dozen or so things that could happen in the next 6-9 months that might change everything, and then bring me the numbers.
