Dean Says He Can Win New Mexico
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 09:42 PM by Rowdyboy
"Democratic presidential hopeful Howard Dean predicted on Monday he could win New Mexico despite having all but given up hope a victory in any of the seven states that hold nominating contests on Tuesday"

http://news.myway.com/politics/article/id/376883|politics|02-02-2004::16:46|reuters.html

Another quote: "...the money is rolling in, that's never been a proble..."

Obviously, the candidate remains optimistic. Glad, at least, that contributions are still coming in. I firmly believe that all money given to a Democrat, any Democrat, is money well spent.

8. You know ahead of time?
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 09:21 PM by Jerseycoa
The ballots will be mostly for Dean? Were results released? It would be weird if they were released before the primary.

On edit: added "released before the primary"

13. They were ballots sent by us
to Dean supporters in New Mexico. It seems reasonable to assume they were cast for him.

14. Wonderful! I did not know this.
Of all of the states voting tomorrow, I imagined NM would be Dean's best shot.

18. 27,000 absentee ballots were cast. Clark and Dean did well with that
Our phone calling suggested that Clark was doing better than Dean with the absentee voting. In fact out of 1,400 people at one point Clark was getting over 50% of the absentee vote.

12. Your thread name does not reflect what he is saying
Hes saying he CAN win. He didn't say, "I predict I will win" Those are two different things.

Dean was joined onstage Friday by Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez, Sandia Pueblo Gov. Stuwart Paisano and former New Mexico Gov. Toney Anaya, who have all endorsed Dean.
