|
Also, it doesn't seem apparent that you have any clue as to what GE actually makes or does.
Do you at all appreciate the fact that they're one of the most innovative companies when it comes to alternative energy?

Boycott Mack and Peterbilt!
And speaking of mars (and the space aliens that inhabit it), it's time to boycott the X-Files! A clear connection between space aliens and General Electric has finally been established. I always knew that David Duchovny neocon had something to do with GE..!

What bad thing have they done now?
It would be hard to boycott everything GE makes or does, especially their turbines and generators.

8. Yes, I want to know what they've done, what's brought them up. |
|
And you'd really like to know what I think about what, a boycott?
What I think is they are awfully big to boycott entirely.
Of course they would hate the negative PR from a boycott's education campaign.
So, educate me.
Is it their military stuff?
Their media stuff?
Why should I attempt to boycott GE?

22. Don't worry, I've been engaged in my own personal boycott.. |
|
..of GE's consumer products for the longest time (basically because of their NBC division and nothing more). I recently relapsed when I bought a cheap GE phone at Wal-Mart (c'mon, $20!), because I've been more impressed with the company lately. It's really not that bad and I couldn't even remember WHY I was "boycotting" it.
I just don't make threads on DU telling other people to join me without offering any reasons for doing so.

This is like the tenth thread you've made on boycotting General Electric. I've yet to see you state a reason for doing so.
Is the fact that they're a big company your major reason for boycotting them? Do you really expect to gain support for your little boycott by simply telling DU'ers to boycott this company merely because its large?
Out of all the DU internet campaigns I've seen lately, this one is probably the weirdest, even moreso than a rose drive for Cynthia McKinney for punching a cop..

Haha, you sound like a GE commercial!
You really are well versed on advertising!
Seriously though, please tell me how a few people boycotting this ENORMOUS company (with only a relatively miniscule percentage of its revenue coming from consumer divisions) will "cook the repubs alive"? You really sound, um, unhinged. The reason I'm consistently attacking your boycott idea is because of how ridiculous your proposal is; in fact its getting to the point where I'm thinking you've been paid by GE to turn people AGAINST General Electric boycotts.

if I offered a truly scary thing for corporations....Boycotts....as a thread. I wanted to see what would come out of the woodwork. And you popped up.
Everything you've written so far has been a personal attack. The only conclusion I can draw is that you have an alterior motive. I know you won't admit it.
Gosh you went to Walmart to buy a GE phone made in China with slave labor. You must be so proud of yourself.
So have you run a business? Do kou know anything about advertising? Do you know how to plan and promote an idea?

27. LOL, personal attacks eh? |
|
Apparently your definition of "personal attack" is an attack on someone's ridiculous idea. God forbid a liberal DU'er attack your juvenile boycott!
Anyway, now I finally know the reason for your so-called "boycott" -- seeing who "would come out of the woodwork" to attack it. Well you've caught me! I'm a corporate stooge!
I'm amazed at how you just started your post by accusing me of engaging in personal attacks, then used the rest of your post to personally attack me. ("Alterior motive" ... "You must be so proud of yourself." - What the fuck are you talking about?)
If you HAVE run a business and know anything about advertising, you're doing an absolutely horrendous job of showing it.

a long time ago---GE is one behemoth monopolistic monster--when we had somewhat of a government, they couldn't even contain GE. For the government to bring a monopoly lawsuit againt GE, it would have monetary wise hurt the government. GE is into everything from GMO food to war toys. They already have enough profits, I'm not going to support them further.
