Democrats keeping quiet allows the Repukes to cloud up scandals.

By not screaming bloody murder and saying Bush must go, the Democrats are allowing the debate on the many scandals to be fought between the lapdog press and GOP spinmeisters. Which is why it is so hard to get the impeachment ball rolling.

people are asking themselves, are these scandals bona fide scandals? Or are they just partisan witchhunts?

The dems' behavior will influence how people answer this question.

3. and impeaching bush will do what, exactly?

Will it change the course of this country, really? Will President Cheney so anything different, except maybe invade Iran sooner?

Anyway, we can't even think about it unless we elect a Dem majority in the fall. And to that end, talking about corruption in Congress is exactly what we want. It's not going to go away because Delay is; there's a stain that won't go away until we get the scoundrels out!

4. If the GOP can find someone with integrity--he needs to replace Cheney...

then a Bush resignation or impeachment. They won't do it without pressure, which the Dems aren't providing as of now. I don't think this Country can survive 3 more years of Chimp.

Cheney gives it up in the first place... that would probably give that Repub a slight edge to win the presidency in '08. (Mind you I tend to feel that the odds of finding a Republican that they would agree on that has any REAL integrity is up there with Easter falling on a Tuesday in September.)

OTOH... *if* we can get both Houses as a majority Dem and if we can get the American public educated and behind us with facts we have a not only a better chance to impeach and remove the whole cabal but we also have a darn good way to fight and beat back whatever BushCo and the neo-CON Repubs still in office try to shove down American's throats in the meanwhile.

Basically we'll have a better chance of surviving the next 3 years if we have Dems as the majority of both Houses so this is and educating the American public as to the REASONS for impeachment are what we need to concentrate on.

We do not want a Repub incumbent!

Secondly, if we get Dem majorities in both houses, we'll have real checks and balances back, and that will severely limit the damage the WH can do. They can withold funds, for example. They can provide real oversight. They can do a lot to keep this president in a box. No more Chimperor.

I think that's the best thing we should shoot for--Dem majorities. Then a Dem president next time.
