That's what the US Ambassador to Iraq told Blitzer today. Along with spreading democracy, our troops are fighting to install a Republican blueprint for their economy. Having followed what was done there closely, I know that is a true statement.But has it ever been articulated before that we are dying, killing, maiming and being maimed for monetary theory? I thought we Democrats were supposed to be the party of social engineering. As compared to the other hypocrisies and lies involved in selling this morally bankrupt policy, this may be small potatoes. It does, however, further reveal the arrogance of these crooks. Can you imagine the reaction of the average American if the war cry had been " Give me your sons and daughters, so I can bestow a free market economy on Iraq."
