4. This kind of talk scares me to death.

This election is by no means a slam dunk.

The Republicans will Swift-boat our candidates, and they will be successful in some cases.

Some of our candidates will muddle their messages. I saw one do that on the morning shows today.

Some of the votes will be stolen.

Some of our voters will be stripped from the voter lists.

Republicans hold all three branches of governemt, and can orchestrate external events that can affect the elections.

I think the elections will be close, and we will be lucky to win many seats in contention.

We must not rest and we must not assume anything.

The effects of the purging of decent career government officials from the State Department, Department of Defense, etc. and replacing them with (often very young) Right Wing loyalist operatives will go on for many, many years after the administration is gone- unless a Democratic administration has the courage and intelligence to do something about it.
