Poll question: Bush & CIA leak case...IF he continues to ignore it, will it go away?
By way of introduction: I posted this in response to the current Huffington Post front page, which looks something like this:

Republican And Democratic Leaders Tell Bush To Come Clean On Leaks…

White House Silent…

2. True, given what he's gotten away with so far...
...and I can't see anything going on here other than "Screw you, I did it, what are you going to DO about it?"

So that's the big question. How many of our elected officials will grow a spine in the coming months, even if it's only in the name of self-interest and furthering their own careers?

3. now that you've reframed the question I'm even less hopeful....
I mean, if it has to depend on the opposition leadership growing a spine? Might as well hope for the press doing it's job....

4. It will...... UNLESS...
If we don't write the press and insist they continue to run stories on this, it WILL go away. As you all know, the Bush Admin. and the GOP has had it's filthy hands around the necks of the media from day 1, and the media is already run by corporations and does not require much threatening to drop any issue the Bush Admin. asks it to drop. The only thing that can keep the media on point, is if it sees the people won't stand for their Bush kowtowing crap any more.

5. The NIE leak case will, IMHO, mostly vanish.
The Plame case will continue to percolate.

But against the background of all the other CIA leaks--recall that the 'rendition airplane' business quite possibly provided enough info to out other covert agents, just not by name to the US press--I'm not sure that the Plame game has great resonance except among Wilson supporters.
