History Channel: The Man Who Predicted 9/11 Rick Rescorla....on now |
|
Its on now (11pmCST). Anyone know anything about this? I haven't heard about this before. Apparently, he was the director of security of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. He led people out of the twin towers before the planes hit.

1. Not a bad documentary ... |
|
As you said, Rick was the director of security and was there during the '93 bombings. "Predicting" 9/11 is a bit of sensationalism. What he predicted was that something like that was going to happen, which a lot of people predicted, but not when and where.

He has his buddies in the military terrorist section or something like that come in and tell him what to expect in the next attack and they said commercial airliners into the twin towers! Hmmmm..... And the Republicans claimed that "no one could have ever predicted that happening"!!!!?????

Plain as that. A lot of people "predicted" what happened on 9/11. Hell, there was a political cartoon that depicted an airliner flying into the WTC published years before the actual event. Everyone with a brain knew it was a target and that airliners could be used as the weapon. Rick was simply a bit more vocal about it than most and took more pains to try to prevent what he saw as an eventuality from killing more people than it did. He save a lot of lives that day, both directly and by the security measures he put into place, particularly the notion that you GET OUT when something happens. You don't wait for someone to tell you to leave. You don't finish your work. You just friggin' leave.
I don't see how this is a "but" to what I said, though.

2. His story was on 20/20 or one of those shows a few years back |
|
He should have died in Viet Nam and didn't. Then he should have died of cancer and didn't. The story was along the lines that he was meant to live to save all of the people in his company but himself and another security guard. If you didn't think 9/11 was a setup before, this should get you thinking along those lines!
