Matthews to host New Orleans Mayoral Debate
Monday 17 April on MSNBC, Chris Matthews will moderate a debate by some of the candidates for the New Orleans Mayors Job. The election will be held 22 April but many people are voting in satellite sites around the state now and many more have requested absentee ballots. City officials estimate at least 100,000 people will have cast their ballots before 22 April. More than 20 people are running for Mayor, with the incumbent Ray Nagin the frontrunner. Others in the running, LT Governor Mitch Landrieu (Mary's brother), Head of the City Zoo, Ron Forman, Baseball Team Owner Rob Couhig and Lawyer Virginia Boulet who worked for Howard Dean in 2004.

6. I believe it is an attempt
by NBC to give some exposure to their New Orleans affiliate which has gotten its ass kicked by the CBS affiliate for years and years and years. And still is even with the Mayoral story. Hard to imagine Matthews letting anyone getting a word in edgewise.
