Just got a call from them (I live in NYC) to take part in a brief two-minute survey and, when I responded to the question of whether I was "Republican, Democrat or Other Party" with "Democrat", the young lady said "loser" and hung up on me! I'd be laughing out loud right now if I wasn't so damn offended! Has anyone heard of this group? Are they for real?

http://www.siena.edu/sri/surveys.aspYou might want to follow up with a call to the college and a complaint about the rude little snot who is interviewing for them. Make trouble for them whenever you can.

You can contact Siena Research Institute(Joe Caruso 518-783-2901, or Steven Greenberg 518-469-9858) with your complaint. Together with other college pollsters like Marist they are pretty good and reliable and if this is a genuine worker, they would like to know. They are based in Loudonville, NY near Albany.
I think follow through is important to maintain the integrity of small polls versus Gallup and the other questionable giants, especially for local races coming up that will undoubtedly be scrambled by GOP dirty war.

the number came up as PVT and the girl announced herself -- in a rather breathless, hurried way -- as being from Sienna Group, or something like that. I would hate to make trouble for Sienne Research Group if they didn't, in fact, call me. Who knows WHO Sienna Group (or something like that) is?
I don't usually get polling calls at home and wouldn't have picked up without knowing the number, but was expecting a friend's call whose number comes up PVT, so ...

7. There are two big pollsters in our area |
|
Sienna and Marist. They are both part of colleges. You can call Sienna (numbers to the polling institute are above) and ask if they have contacted you today. If they did, tell them what the call was like.
It sounds like a lazy undergrad, imho. Sienna and Marist tend to do great work.

5. I always ask them who requested the poll, and what information they |
|
expect to obtain--and then tell them that I never answer phone polls, because most of them are dishonest and hang up.
