OH-13 candidate Cafaro threatens lawsuits over Traficant question
Elyria -Congressional candidate Capri Cafaro vowed Monday to sue any opponents who incorrectly describe the immunity deal she received in a federal investigation of former U.S. Rep. James Traficant.

At an afternoon news conference, the Youngstown shopping center heiress announced the hiring of Mahoning County lawyer David Betras to monitor campaign ads and statements made during the hotly contested 13th Congressional District race.

Cafaro was granted immunity in 2003, when she testified in the federal trial of Richard Detore, who was eventually acquitted of trying to bribe Traficant. Cafaro and Detore worked together at Virginia-based USAerospace, a company her father, J.J. Cafaro, started in an ill-fated attempt to develop laser technology for airport runways.

1. I thought we were done with this Traficant BS
The guy was an obnoxious, unethical DINO who wore a very bad toupee.

3. His acquaintances are still around
Traficant had quite a sphere of influence in the Youngstown area after many years in politics at the local and federal level.

2. I really hope she doesn't win the primary
I saw her infomercial a couple of weeks ago - I thought it was completely ridiculous. She made some comment like she was already so rich that people didn't have to worry about lobbyists having influence over her b/c she wouldn't need their money...

Of course, this is inherited wealth - it isn't like she pulled herself up by her bootstraps and is claiming integrity to never accept something she didn't work for or earn....
