Media: Impeachment wont happen, not enough Am. people support it!
My how history is forgotten. When the Repubs decided to impeach Clinton a large majority of Americans were against it. That did not stop the repub congress. Why do we need a majority of the people to bring criminal proceedings against a criminal president? When the facts get more attention more people will come to believe that it is the right thing to do.

2. You are right, but, on KO Dana Milbank said impeachment wont
happen because not enough americans agree with it. This is such a baseless non-thinking response. I'm tired of hearing it.

I remember that poll and yes conveniently forgotten.

3. The public won't support it until after an investigation begins
An extended investigation of Bush's conduct in office would captivate the public and bring a great deal of very dirty laundry to light. An extended investigation will not happen unless Democrats gain control of at least one House of Congress. If Democrats controlled Congress now the investigations would already be happening.

5. It ain't over til it's over. Just wait. The American people don't want
to get in the habit of each party impeaching the President of the other party over nothing. I don't blame them.

BUT, the Bush stuff IS NOT just a political hatchet job by the opposing party. The steady drip, drip of real illegal acts will make the American People EVENTUALLY wake up, and it will be bye-bye Bush.

Mark my words.

6. Clinton enjoyed 65 percent positive approval ratings
during his impeachment proceedings.

It won't happen until there are a majority of Democrats in Congress, and maybe not then.

8. Bulls***. The Media Industrial Complex love Cheney's ruin.
Brings them more bucks as they destroy everything that they sought so hard to dominate and control.

10. that may change very quickly
while most of the people I work with only pay peripheral attention to politics...

I've had a few of them come up to me this week with questions about the impeachment process itself

I explained the House of Representatives vote to impeach, then it goes to the Senate for a conviction.. I also pointed out both House and Senate are republican controlled - so the likelyhood of the rubberstampers to hold the pResident accountable is pretty remote

co-workers reaction: oh, then we have to get rid of the republicans in November

then we got into the line of succession... if bush* is out, then cheney takes over...

co-workers: can we throw them both out at the same time? don't see any improvement with just bush outta there - cheney runs things anyways
