What's wierd is how all of a sudden the immigration topic has became the biggest issue at the moment. Yet it has been going on for so long now.

It has been around a while as it is a constant and important issue (thus the upgrades in personnel and technology in the 90's) but the Republicans got caught in their own storm again.
Just like Schiavo and the Ports Deal the Republican base demanded action-as a result of the top stirring them up- and got nothing nada nerts.
It should be a big wake up to them but alas it isn't they will just whine and complain about whatever the next diversion Norquist, Rove, Moon, the Four Sisters tell them to get in a huff about.

i just heard on cnn that the republicans are blaming the democrats for leaving in the "felony" clause of the immigration bill as a "poison pill."

it was the republicans who authored it in in the first place and thy're trying to blame the dems
