Call Congress - DEMAND a resolution requiring * to seek approval for Iran
Rice says they have permission under the "war on Terra".

CALL

PLEASE

DEMAND a resolution which states that congressional approval must be sought prior to any military action on Iran.

Please. It may be useless but dear God we must at least TRY.

I've called Moran, Warner, Davis, Reid, Pelosi, Allen, Goode, Hastert, Frist, and Hoyer so far....

Please people - light up the phones. All they are hearing about is immigration reform....

1. That won't work.
He'll get the resolution and it will pass easily in the House. We'll have to see about the Senate, but I wouldn't put it past the Senate Repubs and DINOs from passing such a thing either.

Also, don't forget, the resolution would be carefully worded to be soft enough that it doesn't necessarily have to mean military reponse. Just like the Iraqi resolution, ChimpCo ignored the requirements and went forward with the military response to the requirements (UN, etc.).

Such a resolution would be used as a political football against the Dems as being weak on terrorism in November.

No, I do not want any resolution. If ChimpCo goes into Iran, they're doing so without any permission from Congress. Then, after Jan when the new Congress convenes we can impeach the assholes being sure that it will fly.

2. But a resolution NOW
might at least slow the bombing of Iran down enough that repukes will pressure * to not bomb until after the midterm election... and THEN - *IF* we have won in a landslide - we can push for impeachment...

I really do not believe we can afford to let * nuke Iran.

And I am convinced that he will, otherwise I would agree with your position.

sigh.

Maybe we get lucky - a resolution, NO bombing Iran, AND IMPEACHMENT!!!

(a girl can dream, right?)

(and not just about Jake Gyllenhaal....!)

3. If ChimpCo attacks Iran
It will be the end of him. With or without Congressional approval, people will not stand for it. The public in the US is already considerably soured on these lunatics.

If he uses a nuke, the whole world will impose sanctions to isolate the US economically and politically. Either way, ChimpCo will be dead meat on a skewer, and I mean the whole bunch of them.

I don't want any resolution in Congress that might give ChimpCo an idea that he has permission to do this.

So I will very actively oppose any such resolution.
