Keep badmouthing the Mexican people and keep expressing your desire to make them felons while ignoring the employers who hire illegally. You will pay at the Polls. Your Party is crumbling.
Thank you very much Sensenbrenner and Frist. :applause:

4. Sensenbrenner will win |

Let's make are bets now. We are too busy hatting Muslims for hating horribly offensive cartoons (and we are too busy fucking our own) to stand up and fight a real fight. Watch us lose in 2006, but please do not be surprised.

:sarcasm: I watched what happened in California with Proposition 187. A mostly Dem state went solid Dem as a result. The Latinos, the very "swing" demographic the Repubs have been courting, went, and still go, solid Dem,and have a deep distrust of Repubs. (Swing group because of the heavily Catholic, anti-choice element, combined with a strong belief in social programs and, "it takes a village")
80% of all new US citizens lean Dem. Think they're going to want health care? You bet. Join a union? very possibly. And that, my friends, is the crux of the issue.
And why is it, that the Senators from the interior of the country, rather than the border states, tend to be screaming the loudest and proposing the most draconian measures?
This only addresses the very possible effect on the Latino vote. Women polled on this issue are very put off by the proposals of Frist and Senselessbrenner, too. The Repubs could even lose the soccer moms and the security moms on this one, too.

8. Please stop labeling all anti-illegals as Republicans |
|
For the record, I'm 100% for going after the employers who hire illegals.
I totally support people who come here legally and assimilate into our society (i.e., don't expect us to learn your language; you learn ours). I welcome those people, from ALL countries.
But I don't support a swarm of people who flaunt Mexican flags at parades (until their handlers told them it was pissing off American citizens, and they suddenly decided to bring a bunch of American flags to their rallies), and flaunt bumper stickers that say things like "F*ck L.A., this is Mexico".

9. Why not...they are much more hostile... |

...and rascist in their immigration reform approach. Which in turn shuts off those that would have voted for Repukes.
Repubs are "anti-illegals" in the sense that they are way out of balance in their focus against the Mexicans as their idea of a solution. An imbalanced view that is going to be a wake up for them, at the polls.
What is incorrect about this?

.. the miscalculation the Reps have made here. The black vote is GONE, the Republicans will not get substantial black votes for a very long time. They were making inroads into the Latino vote, and they seem to have simply flushed it all down the toilet in the desperate search for a new wedge issue.
Desperate people do desperate things, and desperation rarely leads to clear-headed actions.

Rich Republicans like illegal immigration. Middle/working class Repubs don't like it at all.
Anyone could see this divisive issue in the party coming. The R leadership did nothing to avoid this conflict. They deserve it.
