Does anyone else get the feeling that a major battle is brewing in the US?
When I read all the news in the last few weeks I get a strong feeling that a decisive showdown is coming soon between the Neocons and everyone else. Everyone is turning against them but they don't back down one inch. In fact they are stepping up the insanity. A new war. Nuclear attacks. Trying to form a gestapo. Spying on US citizens. Torture as an accepted procedure.

I feel a dark boiling under the surface that I fear may erupt soon. The Neocons are stone cold set in their suicidal insanity and are determined to take us all along with them.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting nervous. Not my normal state.

2. Does the phrase Apocalypse Now mean anything to them!
Apparently being the worst flipping president in our history is not enough for Lying George since he is the oposite of the first President George Washington maybe he will be the last!

6. They're frantic, afraid, overstretched

and their Party is bleeding power. The walls are closing in on them.

This wierd paranoid/megalomaniac/powerless thang that is really far more psychological than material is typical in Right wing power bleedouts.

The thing to do is to be serene. There's nothing you/we can do about it materially. It's a paradox, but the thing to do that results in taking power away from them is doing almost nothing- just defense, just fending off their last attacks on us. Our true power lies in not being sucked into the insanity ourselves. These are the insane dying lashings and spasms and ravings of a horrible, barbaric, beast.

I see the present as just like the last stages of the Civil War, roughly mid March 1865. The end is nearing, everyone knows the odds are lopsided but everyone truly expects things to drag out as they have in the past. Both sides are dismal, all battle theaters are drenched in cold rain and mud, both sides are worn down to a few strategic options each. The only people who see great opportunity they can grasp in the big picture are the top Northern generals.

8. Yes! It's 4:02 and I've....
been awake since 1:00! Maybe it's the full moon......the repugs have screwed so much up in such a short time that it's impossible to keep an eye on it all....and we are all just frazzeled....and I guess what worries me most is that the people who could do something about getting * the hell out of the white house act as if they don't want to embarass or inconvenience or???? this administration....scary! I'm tired of the almost polite rhetoric....I knew political correctness would get us in trouble.

9. Actually, I haven't been able to sleep since Katrina. I'm getting
only a few hours sleep each night. Everything feels so ominous. Very scary. I think most Americans just go on with their daily lives but for people who actually follow what's going on closely, theirs no peace.

10. I think there's a general feeling of pervasive unease in the country
It manifests in different ways, but it is all rooted in the same thing .... the neocons.

As for a battle, I don't think we're really on the brink of armed ineternal conflict so much as a political conflict that will be fought at the polling places. Not only for who will serve, but for the very sanmctity of our votes themselves.

I remain mostly hopeful that We The People will come out the winners.

11. Don't despair
When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it - always.

13. I just hope
everyone just unites and gets these guys out of WH. It is time we stand up and take back what is ours. Those radical right religious theocrats do not make things better, I hope maybe the moderate religious groups wake these people up and tell them their view is distorted.
