What Would You Do If You Were A True Republican?
To think Bush was the end all answer to all your needs:

Reduce Government

Reduce deficit spending

Bring integrity and honor back to the White House..
for the first time in over 50 years having total control...

..and then Bush comes in and takes the dictator/totalitarian attitude.
Spending like there's no tomorrow. Bush running up more debt than All the previous Presidents combined.
Takes the imperialistic approach to 9-11.. a tragedy that happened on his watch. Which allowed him to implement the PNAC plan for total global domination...

Lastly ruining our standing with the entire world.
The end result... Bush ruining the G.O.P's long term chances of controlling government for years to come...

If I were a Republican I'd want to jump out a window! LOL!

If I were a puke I think I'd better start learning to shine shoes.

2. Can I be a Lincoln Republican? Or even a Lowell Weicker Republican?
But dear god not a Jeff Sessions Republican, or an Orrin Hatch or Tom Coburn or Pat Robertson or Kenneth Blackwell or Kathering Harris or a Bush or a Reagan or a Nixon or a Harding Republican.

Lincoln's Address at Gettsyburg hangs in the lobby of my town's main post office. Not a fan of George Will, he did once say that despite the current muddiness and polution of the Republican Party, it was a stream that nevertheless had snow at its source.

If the GOP could return to its defining roots, I'd be a lot less harsh with it. If they let Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld represent it, it gets what it pays for.

3. I'd fight like to hell to boot the religious fundy fucks out of the party
they're a huge freaking problem, and the ones who are wrecking the Republican party and turning it into a nightmare of Tim LeHaye-based rapture-waiting politicking and fascist, capitalist-worshiping Nazi Germany hope-to-be.

When the republicans started sucking at the southern fucndamentalist teet in order to get those millions of votes, they (the Republicans) lost their way, and truly sold their souls to the devil.

And I think the real Republicans are realizing it, and we will see, in the coming few years, a rebirth of the party as they cleanse themselves of the taint of the false Christians.

5. Witness Protection Program?
Change my identity and appearance? Poke my eyes out? True republicans would get the fuck out of our country and go straight to hell if they had any integrity. In other words, they are still here helping to ruin our country.

8. Hopefully, they would come to the realization that this disaster is the
realization of all their dreams come true...government is destroyed, capitalism is unfettered and out of control.

9. Hard to say, not being
a Republican myself.

But I suspect they wouldn't vote Democratic. I suspect the ones that were serious about politics wouldn't stay home. I suspect they would hold their nose and vote Republican, anyway, because the Democrats would be worse to them than the worse Republican.

Clark for President!

10. Not so sure about that
A lot of folks that I meet that are declared "Republicans" are folks that back about 10-15 years ago voted Dem. They became Repub only because they got feed up with the Dems holding power for so long (Contract with America and all that).

I have a feeling we'll see a substantial number of "Repub's" votin' "Dem" this year. At least I hope so.

14. Maybe they had
policy differences with the Dems? Don't want to sound pessimistic, but I really, really, really doubt that people, anybody, ever get tired of seeing their preferred policies enacted into law.-

12. Yes, I'd leave
All the things I thought the Republicans stood for don't seem to apply to this current administration and its followers. I would have to say "enough!"

15. Hemlock
If by some genetic mutation or particularly gruesome childhood I found myself a 50-year-old Republican, I'd give serious thought to removing myself from society, either by moving to a remote island or wrestling with Hamlet's dilemna
