Photo: Bush "digs in" for "a long war that could last for DECADES"
"Y'all, what say we watch 'Die Hard' again...I really like that 'Yippie Ki Yay' part..."

(L-R) Gen. Bryan Brown, US President George W. Bush, General John Abizaid, during a briefing by CENTCOM and SOCOM commanders February 2006, at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. Military attaches from around the world are digging in at the US Central Command headquarters here for a "long war" on terror that some say could last decades(AFP/File/Paul J. Richards)

6. Oh my gawd.
He looks like a six-year-old who snuck in a sit at the grown-ups' table for Thanksgiving. He's waiting for Mommy to tell him to get back to the card table.

7. Decades, huh?
Wasn’t it Rumsfeld who said he’d be surprised if the whole Iraq adventure lasted six months, tops? Now it’s “decades.” That’s some kind of mission creep. Meanwhile, nobody knows how much oil is being pumped in Iraq, where it’s going, who’s selling it and for how much, or where the revenue is going. A million barrels a day going for $60 a barrel makes for a nice tidy sum for somebody. I wonder who?

10. A little dose of reality from Cliss to Bush:
It ain't gonna happen. We will not be at war for the Long Haul. I know you think you bagged the Prize of them All -- Iraq. Loaded to the hilt with that precious Black Gold that Cheney has dreamed of.

But it's a mirage.

And it will not remain yours for several reasons:

1) We will be bankrupt long before your plans come to an end. Our creditors will pull the rug out from under us. We are bankrupt as it is.

2) The American people will not stand for it. I know you were not involved in Viet Nam since you weaseled out of that. But history shows: the American people are not to be trifled with. They showed this very clearly toward the end. We had a civil war in this country.

3) YOU will not be there for the Long Haul. You will be long gone, along with all your cockroach friends, and we'll put a stop to this insane war.

14. i predict massive military pullbacks prior to the 2006 elections
and possibly a 80-90% pullback prior to the 2008 election. I think their will be lots of "good news" flowing from Iraq just before Americans hit the ballot boxes. It's practically their only chance of keeping control. I don't see a confrontation with Iran as helping their cause any.

17. What if the next administration doesn't want to fight Bush's war on terror
Suppose the next president doesn't want to have everlasting war. What if the next president in not a PNACer?

Will there be a next president? How does this constant war meme go on without PNAC in power?

How can Bush plan a long extended war campaign when he will be out of office in 2009? Does he juat assume the next president will see things his way?

Please someone answer my questions for me. Thanks.
