Is the DLCC part of the DLC?
Just got a solicitation call. Does anyone know who they are? Are they connected to DLC or is it just an unfortunate acronym?

ABOUT THE DLCC

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is your link to state legislators and candidates across the country. When you support DLCC, you are supporting local Democratic leaders in every region of the country, in both red states and blue states, and in urban, suburban, and rural districts.

Today’s DLCC was formed after the 1994 elections when Democrats lost ground at every level of government. Amidst that devastating election for Democrats, a group of Democratic state legislative leaders met with then-DNC Chairman Don Fowler and formed a Democratic committee of state legislators, for state legislators—the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.

DLCC’s mission is to build and maintain winning,
state-of-the-art campaign committees through a continuing partnership with legislative leaders, professional staff, and supporters. Since its inception, DLCC has been an integral part of the success that Democrats have had winning at the legislative level and has worked to protect and pick up legislative chambers and seats in states ranging from Oklahoma to Washington to New Hampshire.

1. They are not related to the DLC
They are the State Legislature's equivalent of the DSCC and DCCC

3. If you want a Democrat Governor in your state
This is one of the best places to contribute to that. Unless you want to contribute directly to the candidate's campaign. I'm not sure if they give specifically donation to your state legislature, or if they give money to the state legislature that needs the money the most. This is where you send Your Money instead of their depending on Corporate donations.

11. You forgot the "-ic"
Democrat is NOT an adjective. DemocratIC is.

RW nutjobs love to use Democrat as an adjective. It is like looking for tails. Find one and you have found a devil.

I'm just sayin'

15. I try to stay away from RW nutjobs
so I don't know what that is all about. It just gives me headaches.

English is such an awkward language. However, I will certainly use the IC tho' from now trusting in your knowledge.

5. No. The DLC/PPI/Third Way groups are think tanks.
Also the New Dems Network, which is the PAC for supporting candidates who are DLC inspired.

They are setting policy, National Security (Third Way), economic (DLC Brookings), and also taking over the Hispanic strategy(NDN New Democrat Network).

So they are actually controlling the party's message, unless Howard Dean manages to slip something by them and say it first on TV.

They do control the message, and I guess they will for a while.

The DLCC is actually an arm of the Democratic party, the DLC is not.

8. It really is - they should change it.
The poor phone guy! I don't have any money anyway, but I kept him on the phone while I looked it up, and I think my tone was a little hostile... Sorry, DLCC guy!

9. They should change it and I would say that even if I supported the DLC
One should at least recognize that many people do think highly of the DLC and would no more contribute to it that to the GOP.

The confusion can only hurt the DLCC.
