1. There's an even easier way...
...his/her lips begin to move.

3. Yeah, but AFTER that...
It's like Karl downloaded this little phrase to automatically kick in when they're challenged.

5. It's exquisitely dishonest
"I appreciate the question."

As if he's saying, "I'm miles ahead of you and was wondering when your little mind would chug along to the point of asking the question, so that I can enlighten you dark confused world."

"I'm glad you asked me that," is another one, meaning "My handlers have prepared a doozy of an answer for this one."

Other great openers include "With respect," meaning "with no respect whatsoever," and "I'm sure you'll agree when I say," meaning "look out for statement of the utterly obvious."

4. Breathes in.
Actually, I would not call it conservative. Almost every progressive/liberal I meet is, at heart, on a large number of issues, quite conservative. I can't quite figure out just what to call these lying, arrogant gangster types that now claim the misnomer of conservative or republican.

14. That's a good one, too
It's like when Rush says, "Now, look, folks...". The second he says "folks", duck and cover because a doozie of a lie or wingnut theory is about to be spewn.
