"The President looks forward to returning to Crawford whenever possible"

Sheehan Returns to Protest Near Bush Ranch

By Angela K. Brown / Associated Press

CRAWFORD, Texas - Peace activist Cindy Sheehan returned to Texas on Wednesday for another war protest near President Bush's ranch, although he was to spend the weekend at Camp David.

The anti-war demonstrators accused Bush, who has spent every Easter at his Crawford ranch since he was elected, of running from them and their message to bring the U.S. troops home from Iraq immediately.

"We chased him away from his ranch," said Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004. "We protest all over the country without him being in attendance, so I don't think it takes away (from this vigil) a bit because he never met with us anyway. It wasn't even like we ever sat down and had sweet tea together."

But the White House said Bush's plans had nothing to do with the protesters and that he often spends holidays at Camp David with his family. "The president looks forward to returning to Crawford whenever possible," said a White House spokesman, Blair Jones. "It's the right of the American people to peacefully express their views. The president welcomes the opinions of all Americans."

3. Your smilie is what I just did after reading that highlighted sentence!
:spray: Welcomes Americans' opinions, as long as they're vetted first. :eyes:

He's a chickenshit asshat who can't afford any more criticism, which is what he'd get if he
went 'home'.

5. George Bush is a coward
He didn't serve his country during Viet Nam.

He goes to great lengths to avoid people who don't agree with him, including screening audiences.

He has heavy equipment moved in to shield protesters from his sight.

In fact, none of the top Republicans I can think of served. Dick Cheney got five (5) deferments. Tom DeLay didn't serve, Bill Frist? Don't think so. I know McCain did, but he's about the only one I can think of.

Am I missing someone?

Actions speak louder than words, and George Bush has always been a coward. He's not a brave man, nor is he a patriot. He is a treasonous coward.

22. And he had a desk job, as I recall
Not taking away from Rummie's service--because he did, after all, sign up, which is more than I can say for any of the other cowards in the Bush administration.

16. And he's scared of women
Helen Thomas, Cindy Sheehan, Colleen Rowley and other strong women make Little Lord Pissypants, well, piss his pants. Sheehan has successfully chased Bush out of Crawford. It took a little while, but it happened. If the public had any access to its land near Camp David or the White House, we'd chase him out of those places, too.

9. Be careful what you ask for...
You could get President Dick Cheney.

We had some kind of Dick in the White House once before. It didn't turn out well for him or us.

13. He's already president...so it wouldn't make much difference!
We'd just have to look at his ugly snarly face more often. Good! Then I could really turn OFF my TV...instead of just threatening to.

15. Actually, that might put a damper on his orchestrations
since he has to be out in the spotlight, instead of pulling the strings to all while pResident Stupid runs around doing presidenty things . . .

10. During his first term...
...Pickles made her desires known. When this is all over, she wants a nice, civilized mansion...one that's uptown, not a fake ranch movie set sitting on the site of a former pig farm.

So maybe Junior will go somewhere in Texas "permanently," but I doubt that it will be in Crawford. It will probably be turned into some kind of cash-generating "Presidential Museum" or "Historic Site" that he'll never set foot in again.

7. "he often spends holidays at Camp David with his family. " that includes
the malevolent POPPY who never got over losing the white house, the oval office, or camp david, and who now makes it a point to say that it is his son the one who is the president. yet, the old malevolent spit of a man sticks to the white house, his son, the oval office and camp david like gum stuck to the sole of your shoe.

he, poppy the malevolent is really the one who is running this fascist country through his puppet bushit son.

Gay, lesbian parents to line up for Easter Egg Roll tickets

Thursday, April 13, 2006; Posted: 11:39 a.m. EDT (15:39 GMT)

The White House Easter Egg Roll has been a Washington tradition since the mid-19th century. (subheadline)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Hundreds of gay and lesbian parents hoping to take their families to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll plan to start lining up Friday evening to make sure they get tickets for the Monday event. Thousands of tickets -- an estimated 16,000 last year -- are given away on a first-come-first-come basis beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

First lady Laura Bush's office issued a statement saying all families are welcome to attend."I don't think this is a protest," said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director of the Family Pride coalition. "Showing up, participating fully in an American tradition, showing Americans that we do exist, that in our minds isn't a protest."

The gay and lesbian parents say they won't carry signs or chant slogans, but will wear rainbow-colored leis as a unifying symbol."The message is that gay and lesbian families are everywhere in this country," said Chrisler. "We care about the same things that all parents care about: providing our children with every opportunity and every experience possible."

The egg roll has been a Washington tradition since the mid-19th century. Children use spoons to push colored eggs through the grass in a race. Past events have included petting zoos and White House staff members in bunny costumes. The president sometimes makes a brief appearance, and the first lady often reads a story. The White House has not announced plans for this year.
