Poll question: Will anti-nuking Iran generals do more than resign or complain?
This week, we've seen a wave of generals coming out and criticizing Rummy and by implication Bush, which is unprecedented in American history.

Our military prides itself on being apolitical, on maintaining the appearance that it doesn't reach back into domestic politics.

Sy Hersh has said that generals at the Pentagon will resign if this nuke attack on Iran isn't taken off the table, but I think that would suit the Bushies just fine--they'll promote some yes men, who snap to for every neocon war of aggression, and tell the troops that they are doing Jesus a favor (like at the Air Force Academy).

Therefore, will these dissident generals and even others further down the chain of command refuse to follow orders that could unnecessarily start a world war?

2. DUers constantly looking for someone to save them. Sad, and dangerous.
The UN, Patrick Fitzgerald, or just plain low poll numbers, or somebody, is going to rein in Bush. Now it's generals.

It's the elections, folks. It's why it's important to win them. Wishful thinking of some sort of coup is just a more extreme version of denial of the importance of elections with the added plus of now being "extraconstitutional" means of doing what's necessary to save the nation...much like bush rationalizes everything HE does.

5. elections are important too, but we need pols to do their part on evoting
machines.

We scream at them and they do half measures then quietly look for ways to reconsider Diebold & others.

The electoral process only works if we have people to vote for who will actually fight for us, not roll over and play dead.

3. Your title might confuse. "Iran generals who are anti-nuking" is one
interpretation.
