Lamont/Lieberman Campaign Finances
Lamont, Lieberman Report Finances
April 15, 2006
By MARK PAZNIOKAS, Courant Staff Writer

Ned Lamont, the Greenwich businessman challenging Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman for the Democratic nomination, reported Friday that he gave his own campaign $371,500 and raised $341,111 from others in his first weeks as a candidate.

His $712,611 total includes at least $170,000 in small contributions made over the Internet, providing a base that can be tapped repeatedly before the Aug. 8 primary. The campaign reported 4,853 contributions from 4,337 individual donors who gave an average of $78.

But Lieberman, a three-term incumbent with a broad fundraising base, raised $947,356 over the three months ending March 31. His campaign ended the quarter with $4.7 million in the bank, compared with Lamont's $375,916.

1. Proves that Lieberman has a track record of selling to the highest bidder
Joe is a whore pure and simple. I hope that the Internet gets behind Lamont. Unfortunately, these House and Senate races are no longer the concern of the locality or state but of the nation. We need to get the whores out of there and publically finance campaigns so that we get back to real issues and not who is best at selling his/her soul.
