DK front page Sunday NM paper
Did anyone catch the article about Dennis on the front page of the Albuquerque paper on Sunday?

I was hoping to see the picture, but it is no longer on the web. If anyone caught it, I would *love* to see it!

Here is a letter to the editor that was on the web:

Posted: Monday, February 02, 2004
by: Alexandra Norton

I heard Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich speak at a town hall
meeting yesterday in Los Alamos. Although I knew his principles, such as
instituting a universal health care plan--for which we are already paying, with
most of the money going into the pockets of HMO executives, instead of
accommodating our real health needs, what I had not known is that the man is a
truly special individual. He has a vision, -- and he is noble. From a working class
poor background, he does not turn his back on the average man or woman;
instead he maintains the true principles of our original constitution. New Mexicans
would do well to align themselves with Dennis Kucinich on his determination to
restore family and rural farms, to break up agricultural monopolies.

In addition, he is an elegant, well read person, possessed of a calm and centered
nature obtainable only by a high, pure and spiritual character. He is confident yet
humble. This man is a true leader, and one who will not back down under stress,
one who handles pressure well, and one who will interact very well with the
global community, something we so desperately need in these times of appearing
farcical to our fellow world citizens. Because he has stood up to federally
sanctioned media, he has been totally ignored by the mainstream press. This man
should be given a chance to restore our nation to what we truly stand for, liberty
and justice for ALL. Thank you for listening to my view.

1. Nice letter to the editor -- too bad the editors can't be

counted on to cover all the candidates. Of course, DK *would* end media monopolies. . . Could be the reason!

2. I caught this:
I think it was a different event, but I thought it was a positive article:

http://www.dailylobo.com/news/2004/02/02/News/Courage.Key.For.Kucinich-594492.shtml

Flashing peace signs as he spoke, Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich told a capacity crowd at UNM's Woodward Hall on Saturday that the American public needs to have the courage to take its country back.

Kucinich was in town as part of the push for the "Super Seven" states that will vote Tuesday for who the Democratic candidate for the presidential election will be.

Joking as he spoke, Kucinich rallied his supporters for Tuesday's Democratic caucus.

"When I'm president of the United States, the lights are always going to be on, and there will be somebody home," he said.

3. I love that quotation.

"...the lights are always going to be on, and there will be somebody home." That sums up the human quality of Kucinich's campaign and his person. The line is a joke, of course, on how Bush is such a vacant preseident, but the 'feel' of the line is also compelling. Dennis would be a "real" president, one who would be there, 24/7. You can count on him and that fact shines through every statement, every appearance, every word he writes. Our country is going to miss one of those golden oppertunities, that come along only once in a great while, if Dennis isn't elected president. There is no candidate in this contest who comes anywhere close to Kucinich in my opinion - it's hard to even think of a second choice.
