Lieberman to stay in race, come what may
Joseph Straw , Register Washington Bureau 02/03/2004

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn., will stay in the race for his party’s presidential nomination even if he’s shut out in today’s five primaries and two caucuses, his campaign said Monday.

On a multi-state campaign sweep in advance of today’s votes, Lieberman told reporters he won’t drop out even if swept, which would defy an edict reportedly issued to the six winless candidates by Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe.

He has said that he will continue on," said Lieberman campaign spokesman Adam Kovacevich.

Lieberman sat out the Jan. 19 Iowa Caucuses to focus resources on the New Hampshire Primary, held one week ago. Lieberman placed fifth, well behind a hoped-for third place.

3. I respect the heck out of Kucinich and even Sharpton when he isn't
attacking Dean for some assumed racist remark and like that they have nothing to lose and hammer bush* and the corrupt ways of some in the Democratic Party but Liebermen, I think he's just in this for the income. I mean the man can't be that deluded that he thinks he has a chance and so deluded that he thinks Democrats agree with his DINO tripe.
