Changes to Bush Staff Expected Soon

By William Branigin
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, April 17, 2006; 1:33 PM

<snip>

President Bush's new chief of staff told White House aides this morning to expect a shakeup and asked anyone who was thinking of leaving to quit now, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.

In his first meeting with the White House staff since taking over from Andrew H. Card Jr., whose last day as chief of staff was Friday, Joshua B. Bolten said that "some changes and adjustments" can be expected after he finishes conferring with staffers in a week to 10 days, McClellan said.

<snip>

"We remain engaged in an ongoing global war on terrorism, and that is of course our highest priority," McClellan said Bolten told the group. "But there are a number of other priorities that we are working to accomplish as well. And Josh talked about how this will refresh and reenergize the team and for all of us to renew our commitment as we go forward."

Queried about whether he personally has any plans to leave, McClellan asked a reporter, "Are you trying to tempt me here?" He then declined to comment, repeating his stock line that he never speculates about personnel changes.

++++++++++++

Oddly, in the middle of this article about staffing changes, the writer mentions the WH egg hunt, including Pickles' omission of any mention of the gay and lesbian families snubbed by the BFEE egg masters.

6. You can get a couple of new pieces of furniture
but that won't change the floor plan of the house.

Big f*cking Deal. No matter how they rearrange the furniture nothing will change here. The new people will be policy clones of the old people.

Meet the new boss; same as the old boss.

10. I am unable to comment on an ongoing White House Shake up
Edited on Mon Apr-17-06 06:29 PM by rpannier
Because there is no shake up. Every member of the presidents staff has his full confidence, even the one's that he's pushing out the door.
It would be unwise of me to speculate on anyone's motives, except for the Democrats who are trying to undermine the White House shake up, which isn't a shake up because everyone here has the presidents full support -- even the guy we just tossed in the trunk of a car and drove out of town. Who isn't really being tossed in the trunk, he just prefers to ride in the trunk of a car rather than in the front of it.
