this affects way more than just those laid off

it affects prices and taxes and teachers ect...

I hate bush more and more every day

Boeing Wichita will cut 25 percent of its work force -- 900 jobs -- in three rounds of layoffs this year, beginning today.

The company announced Monday that 360 workers will receive 60-day layoff notices today. Another 240 jobs will be cut at the end of June, and 300 more in mid-November

1. My grampa retired from Boeing many years ago.
This will have a severe impact in Wichita--a very visible impact in very little time.

Economic "growth" just gets closer and closer to my personal life by the day, it seems.

10. I could not agree more.
Say hi to my relatives--if you volunteer for the Dems or other LW causes, you can probably walk into the office at any given time and see one!

6. Most of those that are
layed of will go to work for one of the other aircraft companies in Wichita. The aircraft business is booming in Wichita and they are all looking for experienced help.

I can't help but think that cutbacks in defense spending is a good thing.

Cessna, Raytheon, Spirit, and Bombardier are hiring. True, they do not pay quite as well as Boeing. The aircraft business is strong and getting stronger.

Cutting defense spending is good!!!
