Truckers, $500,000 In Duffle Bag, Nuclear Facility, Bechtel......
Edited on Thu Apr-20-06 10:38 PM by global1
Somebody Needs To E-mail This Story To Keith O.

I'm sorry - but something is smells with this story. Last night I read that the truckers were allowed to go but the police detained the press. This story needs to be investigated more. If Keith mentions it on his show it may get the exposure it needs to be more fully investigated.

Can you imagine if you were stopped by the TSA at an airport with a bag of $50,000 in small bills let alone $500,000 in small bills outside of a power station.

Nobody wants to claim the money? Where did these truckers pick it up? From whom? What were their instructions for delivering it? No ID's? Bechtel Corp?

Here's some background on Bechtel from Wikepedia:

Bechtel Corporation (Bechtel Group) is the largest civil engineering company in the world. With headquarters in San Francisco, Bechtel ranks as the 6th-largest privately-owned company in the United States. As of 2002, Bechtel had 47,000 employees working on 900 projects with $11.6 billion in revenue.

Bechtel participated in the building of the Hoover Dam in the 1930s. It has also had involvement in several other high profile construction engineering projects, including the Channel Tunnel, numerous power projects, including pipelines, refineries, and nuclear power plants, the BART, Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong International Airport, the Big Dig, and (from 2003) the rebuilding of the civil infrastructure of Iraq funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Bechtel family has owned Bechtel since setting up the company in the 1920s. Bechtel's size, its political clout, and its penchant for privacy have made it a perennial target for journalists and politicians since the 1930s. Bechtel has maintained strong relationships with officials in many United States administrations, including those of Nixon, Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and George W. Bush. The company also has strong ties to other governments, particularly the Saudi Royal Family.

Recently, the company has come under criticism for alleged mismanagement of the Big Dig project, its financial links to the bin Laden family, and the manner in which it received Iraqi rebuilding contracts after the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003. Politicians in the United States and in Europe have made accusations of cronyism between the George W. Bush administration and Bechtel.

Some key words jump out at me:

- strong relationships with officials in many United States administrations including NIXON, REAGAN, GEORGE H.W.BUSH AND GEORGE W. BUSH.

- the company also has strong ties to other governments, particulary the SAUDI ROYAL FAMILY

- financial links to the BIN LADEN FAMILY

- received rebuilding contracts after the U.S. INVASION OF IRAQ IN 2003

- politicians in the U.S and in Europe have made accusations of CRONYISM between GEORGE W. BUSH administration and BECHTEL.

Is somebody going to CONNECT THE DOTS with this one? I sure do hope so.

1. Where is the Bechtel connection?
Good point about the cash in possession, though.

A friend and I were held for two days in the Miami, FL, airport after being discovered with $20K in our possession back in the 70s.

8. Here's file83's theory's....Who knows...?
The "rational" non-tinfoilhat side of me says:

I think that maybe these guys are being let go so that they can be followed to see if they make anymore stupid mistakes (they seem pretty dumb). The cops know that these two guys are probably going to take some heat if they lost $500,000 of somebody's money.

Most likely, they want to catch the bigger fish here and they want the perps to think that they are going to get away scott free, after all, "they haven't done anything illegal".

On the other hand, my side of me says:

If the money was to really go to Houston, why would the trucker goons be instructed to pick it up BEFORE they went to the plant? No, the money was destined for the Nuclear Power plant.

I think the boss is involved and that money was supposed to be bribe money for someone inside the power plant. The boss used these two goons risking their asses if the truck got closely inspected at the security checkpoint. It probably got inspected because the goons were nervous (because they knew they were about to do something very illegal) which alerted the security guards to do a close inspection (their call)

I think that the boss told the goons, at first, that if the security guard found the money to tell the guard that the money was for a truck they are supposed to buy. Maybe the guard would be stupid. But if he wasn't, they were supposed to then call their boss.

So then the goons called their boss (this part was in the article) and asked for instructions and their boss told them to leave the power plant.

I think it is then that the boss also told them that if they get pulled over by police to just tell them they have no idea how the money got into the truck (because the boss will deny it's his, so their story better match his).

After the Police announce that traces of drugs were found on the money, the truckers know that they must now come up with some story to disassociate themselves from the "drug" aspect by making it sound like some "mystery" man fooled them into transporting the duffle bag. Whether they came up with this story on their own or the boss told them to say that, I have no idea.

The boss is in the clear because the truckers haven't technically broken the law, and so won't be pressed to confess that this plan was all the boss's doing.

Plus, since the trucker claimed that someone "broke into the truck" and stole his ID (which he really did claim in the story), they can claim that maybe it was that guy that must have planted the bag. (Which is of course totally absurd because how did they then learn that they were supposed to take the bag to Houston?)

It's a theory, and not a very good one, because nothing about this story makes sense.

2. What stinks about this one is no seizure of that money by the
DEA. Any civilian traveling with even a twentieth that amount would be ASSumed to be buying drugs and the forefeiture laws would kick in and relieve him of everything on him but the clothes on his back. He wouldn't even be charged with a crime, just robbed under the unconstitutional forefeiture laws.

This stinks like a planned payoff somewhere.

5. Bechtel attempted to take over the water of Bolivia. They moved in
Edited on Thu Apr-20-06 10:58 PM by higher class
tried to make the people of Bolivia to pay Bechtel for their water.

We know its coming. Corporate owned water, even under your one acre, no doubt. Fight 'em. WE SHALL NOT BE OWNED BY CORPORATIONS. OUR CORPORATIONS AND CHURCHES WILL NOT BE IN OUR LIBRARIRES AND HOMES. OUR CORPORATIONS SHALL NOT WATCH US ON HIGHWAYS. OUR CORPORATIONS SHALL NOT STEAL OUR VOTES. Shall I continue?

Certain corporations = equal = Republicans and their barons.

7. Many think water is similar to the peak oil crisis.
I remember when Nestle purchased some water company not long ago. That attracted attention.

11. Enron tried to do the same in other South American countries and India -
they are ALL connected to the BFEE's efforts to control all necessary resources.
