but watching the passions rise here and the voices start to get loud, watching people open themselves to new ways of protest (the old ways), and come to believe that bodies in the streets, loud voices never shutting up, real letters (not emails) need to be written and signed and mailed, watching DU come alive in this time of such very small promise, I want to tell you all that you put a kind of warmth into this old heart that makes me hope in a way that I honestly thought was lost to me forever.

I've enjoyed your reasonable posts.

I think there are probably as many 50-somethings like myself and older here on DU as there are 20-something kids. Some of the kids here think we're a bit too pragmatic at times. They don't realize they'll be there too before they know it. I'm sure you'll agree that we all at one time said we'll never change.

But I too am very grateful to look behind me and see thousands and thousands of kids picking up where we left off, not losing the dream and keep on fighting.
