possibly dumb question: Where did Katherine Harris get the millions of her
own to dump into her failing campaign?
I thought she was a govt. employee before now. Do they get paid that well in florida, or is she rich by other means?

just curious.

A prominent Florida citrus and cattle tycoon. He left behind $500 million when he died in 1990.

12. Not that graft can be ruled out.
I personally think there would have to be some kind of payoff for the 2000 election, and it's a lot easier for a multi-millionaire to hide an extra million or two than for a real person to do so.

So don't give up hope!

11. Her Inheritance came from her Democratic Grandfather
Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 09:30 AM by bushmeat
A Florida state senator (as well as prominent citrus and cattle tycoon) Ben Hill Griffin, Jr.

Honest and direct, Griffin showed strong conviction for ideas he believed in and stood strong against initiatives he thought were wasteful.

"He can't be bought," said another reporter, "unless it was with a cigar from a friend. Offer him $10,000 trying to buy a favor and he'd spit orange seeds at you and laugh."

13. And people spend millions to get a job that pays $140k because?
They must REALLY be itching to be of public service, to spend all those personal millions getting there. What patriots!
