* approval 33% on faux news
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,192468,00.html

Quote:
NEW YORK — More Americans disapprove than approve of how George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Congress are doing their jobs, while a majority approves of Condoleezza Rice. President Bush’s approval hits a record low of 33 percent this week, clearly damaged by sinking support among Republicans.

President Bush’s job approval rating slipped this week and stands at a new low of 33 percent approve, down from 36 percent two weeks ago and 39 percent in mid-March. A year ago this time, 47 percent approved and two years ago 50 percent approved (April 2004).

1. If Faux claims 33%, imagine how low the real number is...
Somewhere down in the toilet, with their ratings.

7. Low, low, low and getting lower all the time.
This is the end of the Reagan Revolution.

Now if the democrats can just manage to get their ratings higher than Shrub's...!

2. How can a majority approve of Condoleezza Rice?

3. Wow, and per common DU tradition, I will subtract 3% from that
because that is the average "lift" a Foxpoll gets ya.

The last sentence in the link is drivel, "It seems clear that many Republicans, while they may still like and support George Bush, are growing uneasy with what may happen to their candidates — and the policies they support — in the November elections," comments Opinion Dynamics Chairman John Gorman."
Bullshit, ppl, especially republicans don't jump ship b/c they're worried about Nov. elections, if they cared at all his #'s would be going up, what with all the concern and whatnot. But that's not the case, repugs are becoming discouraged, and they aren't going to do shit this Nov. when we take back Congress, and that's they're plan. At the very least, i bet my example is more typical than Mr. Gorman's.

5. Now Here's The Funny Part: Bush's 33% Isn't The Story...
...the real story here is Rice's "majority" approval. Didja catch how they smoothly threw that part in? Why would her mention in this story even matter? Answer: Rice IS the story! It's Bush and Congress that doesn't matter. They're already hated, and Bush isn't even elgible to run for President again in '08.

I've been watching these subtle Condi props in the MSM ever since she got the Sec'y of State post. It's all a ploy to warm the electorate up to the idea of putting her in the White House. Think about it: who besides GWB could the neocons put in the White House that would be the same kind of sock puppet Bush is to advance the PNAC agenda? It can't be McCain: the neocons won't be able to controll him as much. It can't be Cheney: he has the two-fold problem of being even MORE hated than Bush right now and having already said he isn't interested in the job. Who do the neocons have? Really?

Condi.

It's a steep hill to climb and a tough sell, but that's why they're starting three years out with subliminal messages like this one. God, I want to be wrong on this; but I have a sinking suspicion I'm not, though...

6. A smart, black woman in the republican primaries?
What happened to the "southern strategy"?

Condi had better borrow that great big telegenic cross necklace from Harriet Miers and join a megachurch, pronto!

8. I'm Sayin', Tho...

...this really isn't that far-fetched. I believe Alabama is Rice's home state, so that's a start. Not to mention she spent quite a bit of time in California, being a provost at Stanford and all.

I think since the the advent of Diebold voting machines things like "conventional wisdom" went out the window a long time ago...

9. Relax. Condi will NEVER run.
For one thing she has NEVER run for a political office local or national. So what if she's from the South. Can you imanage some knuckle dragging Bubba voting for her? Could you see her on the stump or a debate? Me neither.

10. Never Underestimate The Mind Of A "Knuckle Dragger"
If Condi's opponent were one Hillary Rodham Clinton, you're damn right some Freepers who otherwise would would pull the lever for her. And like I said: that's why the neocons and the MSM are trying to subtly warm the electorate up to a Condi candidacy. Hell, they got that idiot Bush "elected" twice; why wouldn't they think they could get anybody they wanted elected...?

12. Sure. The "bubbas" would vote for Condi over Hillary - but over McCain?
We're talking about the primaries here.
