Feingold Gets Big Spike in PAC Donations
By FREDERIC J. FROMMER
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sen. Russ Feingold's call for censuring President Bush appears to have paid dividends for the senator's political action committee.

Feingold's leadership PAC, the Progressive Patriots Fund, pulled in $282,000 last month, according to a report filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission. In February, the PAC raised $105,000.

Feingold, D-Wis., announced in March that he introduce a resolution to censure Bush over the administration's eavesdropping program.

"I bet that really did stimulate contributions a lot," said Charles Franklin, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. "The censure resolution, and lack of any other Democrat backing it, really put a lot of Bush-haters onto Feingold."

1. I think it's sad Feingold stands alone. No other senator supports him.
All Feingold has to stand behind him are common citizens. If I were him, I'd say that I'd rather have 100,000 poor workers behind me than 43 senators who call themselves Democrats and are afraid to challenge Bush's authority.

12. Tragically, that's not what wins nominations
The DCCC/DSCC/DLC all say screw the grassroots, WE want (fill-in-the-blank-with-any-DINO-here) and that's who the nominee will be. At first I figured it would be "Hil" but I think they're starting to back off on that one as they finally have gotten it through their pointy little heads that "Hil" would be a sure loser -- even AFTER the Bush administration. Looks like they're leaning more toward Warner now, although they'll have at least 4-5 of their chosen ones just in case their "frontrunner" doesn't quite work out.

Either way, it would take an absolute miracle for Feingold to be the nominee. Too bad, too as I think he is exactly what this country desperately needs; however, they can't control him and they'll have to "Dean scream" him or whatever other dirty tricks they have up their sleeves just in case someone gets a little too popular.

2. Feingold
I'm starting to take a real look at Feingold.

Where can I get a basic look at his platform?
