3. Hi Oldtimer,
I'm a Clark "super volunteer" in Albuquerque. If you have any questions about General Clark, anything you want cleared up, PM me and I'll answer you ASAP. (I'm an observer at one of the polling sites so I'll be in and out of my office most of the afternoon.)

7. It's a "caucus" but not in the sense of the Iowa caucuses.
In other words, you just go to your polling place and mark your ballot (which contains ONLY the names of the presidential candidates).
The difference is, there are only a few of the regular polling sites open, and the polls are open only from noon to 7 p.m.

HOWEVER, you can vote an any open polling site by simply presenting yourself and asking for a "provisional" ballot.

Provisional ballots will be kept separate from regular ballots until it's ascertained that the voter is (a) a registered Democrat, and (b) has not voted at any other location, or via absentee ballot.

I don't know where you are in New Mexico, but you can call Clark Campaign Headquarters in Albuquerque (505-888-6308) and they can tell you your nearest polling site and provide you with a ride to the site if you need one.

8. Wes Clark, too
I hope you vote for Clark.

Maybe we can pull off a New Mexico miracle.

4. Count me in!

Full disclosure: I first worked for Dean here in Albuquerque, became disenchanted and am now working for Clark. My personal reasons:
1. He seems much more sincere than many others. There's a depth and honesty to him that I find winning. When he says that he is running because he loves this country, I do beieve him.
2. His record of excellence wherever he has gone, and whatever he has done. (Athlete, scholar, leader)
3. His policies are close to where I line up. For more on this, you might see a DU thread from last night, "Help this undecided AZ voter"

Good luck to us all!

5. PROBLEMS IN NM --
This was posted on another forum:

Albuquerque-AP) -- A glitch in a telephone system could cause a
little confusion in today's Democratic presidential caucus.
The state Democratic Party says there were problems with about
three percent of the 198-thousand calls it made to notify voters of
the sites where they should cast their ballots.
In some cases the wrong location was given to the resident and
in others the voter may have moved. In either case, a party
spokeswoman says cards were mailed out giving voters the correct
information on voting locations.

Because the election is being conducted by the Democratic Party
instead of the state, many people are to vote at different voting
sites.

======

KRQE (said) they've already gotten some calls from confused voters who've been steered to the wrong caucus site. Reason sounds like the one cited in the last graf below. Case in point KRQEs heard about is Torrance County: there's apparently only one caucus site in the county, but people have been given various locations as the site they need to show up at today. The info they're getting applies to the GENERAL elex polling places for November. Where they're getting the bum steer is in being told to report to those places today...'sted of the single Torrance Co. caucus site they need to be headed for.

Tell your friends to be on the lookout.
