Will Kucinich keep his seat in congress? |
|
How do his constituents in Ohio feel about him running for president? If I recall, he represents a fairly conservative district. He may have trouble this year if the republicans run someone against him. Anyone know if he'll face a serious challenge?

1. I'm not in his district... |
|
...I'm about 10 blocks from his district, but I suspect he'll do fine. He's beaten Repug challengers off with a stick before and won by decisive margins. He HAS been slacking a bit on local issues (some of which, let's face it, is bullshit pork), which is hardly surprising, but his constituents include a ton of un- or under-employed laborers, who like his message and the work he's done for Cleveland in the past.
The real problem he's facing here is from dickhead editorial writers on the Dem side, complaining that he's "a joke" and "making himself (and, by extension, us) look foolish." How brave of them to bash on the guy who's losing, no? I wonder how many disaffected progressives THEY'VE brough back into the party fold...

It's so sad -- he would win the GE, but his own party has been fighting him tooth and nail.
Why is that?

5. Cleveland should embrace DK's candidacy... |
|
...as a contribution to national life that reflects proudly on all of you. I'm sorry local influentials don't share such a view. Maybe they'll praise him a generation from now, like the Muny Light fight. A prophet without honor in his own land...

2. The abortion flop may hurt him a little, but I think he's safe. I'd like |
|
to see him run for the Senate.

8. he was re-elected in 2002 |
|
after making the switchover (2001)...so I think he'd be ok with that.
I'd like to see him in a Dem cabinet and if not there, the Senate would be good and the House just fine...as long as here's there somewhere

9. Yes, and 2002 gave him his highest margins -- 3 out of every 4 votes |
|
What we need to do is see that we get him as President--let Ohio find another rep, our national need is greater!

7. I do not think his district is conservative |
|
If it was, his challenger, an Afganistan veteran, and a pro-labor republican, would be taken alot more seriously by both parties.

Where ever he is, I do not want him silenced by higher ups in an Administration that wants to not rile its' contributors. Senate would be fine. Chair of House Progressive Caucus is better. Senate all that decorum crap is just that , crap.. We need more like the British parliament where one can speak their mind.. Just as long as we have Dennis fighting for us, does not matter where he is..Like FDR his ideas are spearheading us to new solutions that eventually even the ruling elite will not be able to stop, as our present order falls apart. We want to delay real solutions to our problems, then elect someone else.....Thank you Dennis. I would rather have him as House Progressive caucus chair over some silenced Cabinet mogul.
