Media Matters - The Many Falsehoods of Tony Snow
<http://mediamatters.org/items/200604190003>

Summary: Media Matters for America presents a compilation of false and misleading claims advanced by Tony Snow -- a Fox News Radio host, Fox News guest host and commentator, and former speechwriter to President George H.W. Bush -- who is reportedly being considered by the White House to replace outgoing press secretary Scott McClellan.

Yikes. They really don't care at all, do they, about appearing as honest brokers to the press? People like David Gregory are going to go ballistic. Imagine how all the other networks look at this pick!

perfect for Faux, so perfect to work for the bush** administration. Honesty and integrity have no place with this bunch of thugs.

15. I imagine they're negotiating his contract...
and I'll bet there's a golden parachute for the man even if he isn't in the job for long, if he's smart about this. Considering Bush's approval rating, I doubt any prominent Republican can expect to be in the president's seat come January, 2009.

19. The next president will bring his own team regardless of party
The campaign spokeperson usually gets the press seceary job if they want it.

The life expectancy for this job is a little less than three years, regardless of the 2008 election outcome.

I don't know if anyone would want it longer than that. Constant lying and avoiding questions has to be stressful.

31. When people can actually confront him with the truth.....
and he's not just sitting behind a desk lying into a camera. This is going to be a whole new ball-game for Snow and I don't think he's really up to it. He's used to spreading his lies and not having anyone question him about it. Now he's going to get his ass jumped on regularly and I think he won;t be able to handle the pressure. Look what happened to Limbaugh's TV show. He couldn't handle it, his mind wasn't that quick and he couldn't go to "break" whenever something tough came up and he had to fact check and gather himself. Snow's the same, he'll crack. It'll be funny to watch actually. The humiliation of another mindless neo-con. Love it!

35. I also wonder how long he will last.
The environment is so different from the Faux studio setting he is used to. But more than that, how long can anyone last in a job that requires defending the indefensible?

21. Maybe the pRez should just subcontract out the WH Press junket to Faux
entirely..just bypass the inconvienence of trying to manipulate the toady press. They could move the whole Faux news operation into the White House. Think how super awesome it would be if Faux and friends could do their morning show in the oval office..add a little segment called "Wake up with Georgie," or "Breakfast with Pickles." Think how cute it would be to see the Rez walking around the White House in his jammies, holding his Teddy Karl, and babbling incoherently with the even more incoherent Faux turds..I can see this really pushing him up into the high 30's in the polls. They need to consider this..It would be very Halliburton of them.

23. We couldn't have asked for a better replacement
I had to pick myself up off the floor from laughing so hard about it. Talk about a bad choice! This, my friends, is an administration in shambles. It's coming apart at the seams, and this appointment just proves that new chief of staff Bolten has put his foot on the gas pedal for the Bush admin's demise.

Would he really rejoin the crew of a sinking ship? Doesn't this offer at least point a middle finger at "Fair & Balanced"?

29. Well, he'll fit right in at the White House......
the truth hasn't come out of that particular building for 6 years now. It's in there, hiding, but it will take another President to coax it out into the open again. The truth hasn't seen the light of day for 6 years in the Bush White House and Tony Snow won't do anything to jeopardize that streak. Same tune, different mouthpiece. I hope the White House Press Corps annihilates him.

Dear Lelia,

The comment referred to complaints that an incursion would lead to
thousands of deaths and a quagmire. I stand by the original portrayal. I
also agree with your point. Victory is when you actually win. We're not
there yet.

Thanks for the note.

Best,

Tony Snow

If your lying!

Tommy Franks and the coalition forces have
demonstrated the old axiom that boldness on the
battlefield produces swift and relatively bloodless
victory. The three-week swing through Iraq has utterly
shattered skeptics complaints.
(Fox News Channels Tony Snow, 4/27/03)

Humm so the war in Iraq which is still going on BTW,
was a victory already according to your statements on
4/27/03?

Well I'm sorry Tony Victory is when you actually win!
