Why would Tony Snow take the WH gig? Surely it's less money |
|
and more crap. What's the motivation?

get it, his rage still sounds out!

3. Well, if you've cut your teeth with liars in the media at FOX, |
|
it's a natural extension of your career to want to move to the next level and work with liars in the Bush administration.

4. You're making the assumption his salary will be all he'll get. . . |
|
Even in a honest administration, unfettered access to the Oval Office and the connections to be made would pay handsomely the rest of your life. With the Bushistas? . . . he'll gain infinitely more than he's set aside (provided he avoids jail). . .

15. Supposedly, many WH aides engage in insider trading |
|
I also think he will get better corporate opportunities after this. Still, I think it's weird he left being an anchor for this.

7. the line on the resume may be worth more later |

I don't know how much he makes now. I'm sure you are right that he'll make less as press secretary, but he might make more as a GOP consultant and professional pundit after he puts in his two years.

8. I still want verification |
|
Snow just recovered from cancer and has publicly stated he now wishes to spend more time with his family. Yes, he has been a Bush/Faux whore, but this assignment would be tiring and leaving him with less family time. But the GOP are not known for sensible decisions.
He's just more of the same old GOP crap. He was a speech writer of Bush 41.

9. conjecture: maybe the choice wasn't his to make |
|
maybe it was made for him ... or maybe he was the only one who said "I'll do it".
I see an offshore account with Tony's name on it ... and, Richard Mellon Scaife, Rupert Murdoch, and the Reverend Moon making deposits to compensate for any difference in pay ... with the occasional 'bonus' ...
I suspect his mortgage will be taken care of (if he has one living out in Virginia) ...
According to "The Hunting of the President", Snow is significant not only for having introduced Linda Tripp to Lucianne Goldberg, but also as a key figure in the anti-Clinton propaganda campaign under Murdoch.

He's a true sycophant..for decades. For the GOP and with no alliance to a non-partisan America. Says a lot.
He's still recycled GOP goods. What is it with Bush? He appoints Texans, oil men, and GOP known hacks of his father and Reagan.
The man has no original ideas.
