1. Dems own the oil companies, and Dems own the government!
Heck, they even started the Iraq war for no good reason just so gas prices would go up, and now they're gonna attack Iran!!!

4. Shhhhh! If you say it, they will believe it. Shhhhhhh
There used to be a time when blatant falsehoods could be spoken in jest because the sarcasm would be obvious.

But damn, we live in a time when people actually BELIEVE these sorts of statements! (ok, maybe not at DU, but out "there")

5. It is split evenly 84% to 16%
:sarcasm: sorry that is from the Enron political donations talking points which was 72% Republican and 27% Dem. This is actually more heavily slanted.
http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0426/p01s04-uspo.html

from the April 26, 2006 edition

Since 1990, oil and gas interests have contributed $140.9 million to GOP federal candidates and $46.7 million to Democrats, according to the Center for Responsive Politics in Washington. In the 2006 electoral cycle, those industries have given 84 percent to Republicans and 16 percent to Democrats, according to the Washington-based public-interest group.

6. And, those damn Dems got Iran, Venezuela and Nigeria
all stirred up with their threats to take over their politics and put a right wing govt. in control of those countries. And, the Dems are giving the oil companies tax breaks. Dems even accused the Muslim world of being religious radicals!! The Dems want to put radical religion at the top of this country's agenda, like doing away with separation of church and state just like the Muslims. Damn Democrats! SARCASM

These stories go on and on. What are Dems in Congress doing? Congress has a committee for everything and yet they seem to be in the dark, no fact find, interest - - - ?? Way too much bs being dumped on we the voters.

come into being.

You present a stellar example of it.

They are dreamed up at the TAX-EXEMPT Heritage Foundation's Press room and ditributed by the lap dog press to be ruminated back at the public in the form of LTTE and water-cooler talk.

None of it is an accident.

Edit: KnR.

14. McLellan repeated it and I heard it on Hannity
the local radio station plays a recorded version of Hannity's show and I had to run out to the grocery store last night-I caught Hannity "IF you are going to blame anyone blame a liberal blame a Democrat it is their legislation over the last 30 years...." and so on.

12. Republicans take none of the blame for problems they caused.
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 06:45 PM by tabasco
They fought higher mileage standards for our cars.

They support wars so that oil companies will control the oil reserves.

They fought alternative energy research on behalf of the oil companies.

Gas was about $1.60 when Clinton was President a short six years ago.

The price of gas has almost doubled under Bush!

BUT IT'S THE DEMOCRATS' FAULT??!! :wtf:
