Apples and Oranges, Blowjobs and War...

Laura Nichols, an official of the liberal Center for American Progress who was an adviser to Richard A. Gephardt, the former House Democratic leader, said Democratic incumbents faced similar awkward questions during President Clinton's second term, albeit over his personal behavior rather than a war.

"Everybody had to come up with their own rap about how personally offensive it was and how bad it was," Ms. Nichols said.

But the backlash against the president's critics ultimately benefited Democrats more than the embarrassment hurt them, Ms. Nichols added, just as some Republicans are hoping talk of impeaching Mr. Bush may help them this year.

1. big difference
Most of the country, no one who i spoke with, cared that Clinton got his wang sucked. It really didn't affect them. With Bush, his corruption and bad policies that are a result touch every American.

2. Clinton's approval ratings all through the Lewinsky "crisis" were high.
Bush's numbers since early 2005 have been quite low.

There's no way they can polish this turd.

justice. The true conservatives who have turned away from Bush know that he deserves everything he gets. The only rallying around for Bush will be from those who have nowhere else to go that will support their hatred, bigotry, & welfare for the wealthy.

4. GOP Glue sniffing at all time high.
Jesus are these people on crack? The push for impeachment is coming from the grass roots not the panicky mole rat Democratic leadership who still needs several shots of vodka to even say boo to the president.

6. Please.... These idiots are really reaching
AND showing how how desperate they really are... pardon my language but a messy orgasm, a stained dress and two willing adults DO NOT equal the rape of at least two countries, outing of a very important intelligence asset, the murder of God only knows how many agents around the globe for political reasons, pillaging the guaranteed rights of the American people, the deaths of at least 2500 Americans and naturalised citizens and others on this soil directly attributed to a demonstrated incompetence on the part of an unelected regime, American Gulags, rendering Americans and citizens of other countries to third country prisons for torture and inhumane treatment, outright war crimes, stealing elections here and other countries through the use of black box voting, the deaths through the abuse of the Military as a result of war based on lies, the further deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and probably, Iran, the granting of personhood to corporations, the outright pillaging of Americans by big oil, the complete control of the media by the right wing, ad nauseam

There is no equal...

7. HUGE difference - millions of people can relate to what Clinton did
while how many Americans have lied a whole world into war the way Bush did?

9. Many folks have had oral sex outside their marriage, or at least they've
considered it. :P

Most folks haven't started an illegal war based on oil profits, or even considered it.

10. The problem here is that Bush isn't charismatic like Clinton.
Clinton could charm almost anyone.. including hard core ideologues like Newt Gingrich. Newt is on record saying they had to send a minder with him whenever he met with Bill, as Clinton was so persuasive that he could sway Newt to his side in a one on one meeting.

Bush can't even stand up straight or speak properly. His facade appeals to some, but he's got no actual, personal appeal or charisma. Just the ability to intimidate.

The people who blindly follow Bush don't like the man as much as the mission and hate. That's the fix they get from him.
