I've decided to vote for Kucinich -- to send a message to the Dem Party
I'm not worried about electability. If, as "they" all say, DK doesn't stand a chance at the nomination anyway, then my voting for him isn't going to change that. If the unexpected happened, and he won the nomination, wouldn't that mean he's not as "unelectable" as popular wisdom says? Yes, I'll be giving up my chance to help decide between several frontrunners, but I'm in a late-primary state, and I may not have much say in that anyway. I would be satisfied with any of the candidates now out there, so this isn't comparable to voting for Nader in 2000. I'll vote for whoever is the Dem candidate in the general, but I think showing support for someone like Kucinich in the primary is more important. Whether or not he wins, I think it will send a message to the Party, and I am willing to risk "wasting" my primary vote in order to give the Party that push.

all this rally behind the front runner nonsense is just that--nonsense. People should vote for who they believe in and who best represents their views.

5. This is America
You should vote for anyone you want. You have that right until bush get reelected if he does. Then all bets are off. Go for your guy if you really believe in him. I am. You won't have any regrets.

6. "Pushing the Party" is hardly "wasting" your primary vote
In fact, I would say that what you are doing is far, far more important than those voters who are relying only on the latest polls or what the media talking heads are saying to cast their vote.

Cast your vote for Dennis, and cast it with pride and a clear conscience. The long-term work you can help in by doing so is of the utmost importance.

7. Thank you, RAE
That's just what I've been saying all along. If there is an anointed primary winner, then voting for Dennis is a chance to express our progressive views without harming him. If there isn't, well why not go for it?

I totally respect your vote. At least your voting for a candidate who will bring "real change" not a johnny-come-lately-dem or a centrist-in-liberals clothing.

That's something I've never understood: if people really are committed to ABB and thus believe any candidate would be better than Smirk, then why not vote for the one who would be BEST: Kucinich? That way, if he wins then we know we have a truly outstanding Dem standing for us, and if someone else wins it won't hurt.

20. To respect the Democratic party.
McAuliffe needs end the crap about candidates end their campaign after today...If debate ends after today, I might be done with the Democratic party..It is not about the candidates, but the agenda..
McAuliffe wants to stiffle debate, I will be furious..Instead of goint to the convention as a supporter, mabye a protester is in order..
As Sharpton said, the efforts of others enhances the party..It brings more citizens to the table. We do not resolve our differneces of issues, short circuit the airing of those differences prematurely, then the party is worthless.

22. Stifling debate within the party has always been McAuliffe's goal
Just remember, he was the biggest advocate of a front-loaded primary season (lending an advantage to those candidates most able to raise large sums of dirty, sweaty corporate cash). He also got this post by being primarily a bag-man for the Clinton team -- not through any kind of political prowess.

21. Welcome aboard!
We can all compromise in the general election. Now is the time to vote for who is the best candidate on the issues - this is why I support Kucinich.

23. Woohoo!
Your reasoning is EXACTLY why progressive Dems should not be afraid of "voting their conscience". If we don't do it for the primaries, then how do we expect to be heard? At the DNC meetings?

Welcome aboard-- you've made a great choice!
