Or tuck it away for your grandchildren to sell at auction, someday--if we all manage to survive the B*sh regime, that is.

So while I must refuse the award -- I sure did enjoy it!
Not to mention being called a doll for the first time in quite a few years.....

25. That's quite all right
But, you are not permitted to refuse the reward. It's given, it's yours for the day, and, if you try to decline, you'll suffer this fate (regardless of your gender, you doll):

Hey, I subscribed from the beginning.

Imagine if I'd saved all those issues.

I could have build a condo out of them, huh? Maybe something in Purcellville?

9. Haven't read it regularly since the 80's..
Still fun? I recall letting my subscription slide in the late 80's as the nature of the magazine seemed to be changing.. tho I've caught plenty of singular articles since then.

10. Yeah, it sucked for a long time
(but so did the eighties, remember?).

It's back and MUCH more political than ever. It's quite worth the price of the subscription. I have to admit, I skip over most of the music stuff, because, yeah, I'm old. But the writing, the political coverage, and even the articles about our OLD musicians are very, very good.

OK, you're not dead to me anymore.

But, watch it.

You're on double-secret probation.

14. I blew it off by the mid 70s.
.... when it was apparent that Jann Wenner had become more interested in Hollywood than in music.

It was great up until then, a must read for me :)

13. Thankfully, I still have about two dozen or so from '69-'72
Carefully placed away in plastic covers, awaiting the times when I unwrap them and remember how tres cool I really was.

I then put them back and take a nap, remembering how tres old I truly am.

16. Shit! I went to buy stuff at AAFES
(cigs, SO is a vet) and asked about it.
The older version w/Keifer was there. I asked about the new one.
I told her it's about the worst prez in the world.
She disagreed.

I told that woman that that's why I was looking for it,
because I think This asshole is the worst prez in the world.
I try to do my part.

and how they can be so bloody blind and stupid and recalcitrant.

I'll send you my copy, if you can't find one of your own.

Little bits help, and you did good, kid.

19. Well we are big rock singers, we've got golden fingers
And we're loved everywhere we go
We sing about beauty and we sing about truth
At ten thousand dollars a show
We take all kind of pills to give us all kind of thrills
But the thrill we've never known
Is the thrill that'll get you when you get your picture
On the cover of the Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone
Wanna see my picture on the cover
Rolling Stone
Wanna buy five copies for my mother
Rolling Stone
Wanna see my smilin' face
On the cover of the Rolling Stone

I've got a freaky old lady name o' Cocaine Katy
Who embroiders on my jeans
I've got my poor old gray-haired Daddy
Drivin' my limousine
Now it's all designed to blow our minds
But our minds won't really be blown
Like the blow that'll get you when you get your picture
On the cover of the Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone
Wanna see my picture on the cover
Rolling Stone
Wanna buy five copies for my mother
Rolling Stone
Wanna see my smilin' face
On the cover of the Rolling Stone

We got a lot of little teenage blue-eyed groupies
Who do anything we say
We got a genuine Indian guru
He's teachin' us a better way
We got all the friends that money can buy
So we never have to be alone
And we keep gettin' richer but we can't get our picture
On the cover of the Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone
Wanna see my picture on the cover
Rolling Stone
Wanna buy five copies for my mother
Rolling Stone
Wanna see my smilin' face
On the cover of the Rolling Stone

And if I'm remembering right, it's Helen Thomas we have to thank for the original statement. Yes?

I'll be glad to give that grand dame credit for stating the obvious - for sure.

My bumper sticker isn't quite as tasteful. It just says "Mandate, My Ass!"

28. Sourced
Found this in wikiland:

"This is the worst President ever. He is the worst President in all of American history."

said in Los Angeles while at a Society for Professional Journalism banquet event.

published in an article by John Bogert in the Torrance, California Daily Breeze January 19 2003.

According to Thomas this was supposed to be off the record. The reporter (assumedly Bogert) asked for her autograph after she spoke at the event. As she signed his copy of her book, he said to her, "You look sad?" She responded by saying "Well I am. I'm covering the worst president..."

interview by Adam Holdorf for realchangenews.org, March 18, 2004
