Does anyone else feel a kind of unintentional joy when considering
all the people driving V8 SUVs currently. When they first flaunted their wealth gas was half what it is now.

Gosh they have to be kicking themself.

I just can't help it...We are really a stupid animal all around....

And the big Ta-ho's. I wish gas was $5 just for SUV drivers or that some sort of TAX is imposed on SUV's.

Sorry for those DU'ers who drive SUV. I can't help it.

13. "The Hummer Tax" Gas for Hummers should cost 10 TIMES...
the amount that everyone else pays. That will rid us of those horrible Hummers.

17. If you remember - to add insult to injury - the repubs wrote a tax
*****incentive****** toward buying a big, fat, SUV.

My 10 year old chevvy blazer that I use for legit 'truck' stuff obviously didn't qualify.

3. I smile at a Bush-Cheney bumpersticker anytime it's plastered
on an SUV, particularly those honking suburbans. Jeez, when did Mrs. Middle America need an 8 passenger truck to do her errands?

7. I was just talking to my husband about that on sunday
when we were out anf about. I've noticed that the cars with those bush-checy stickers have just about disappeared. I had to chuckle when I was on my into a Korean restaurant and noticed that a big black hummer had the remnants of a sticker, that was suspiciously close to one of those revolting stickers. It looked like it had been partially BUT NOT COMPLETELY scraped off. I was tickled pink...

12. I drove by a large house today...4 vehicles in the drive...
2 Hummers and 2 HUGE SUVs...

They deserve what they're getting, IMO.

14. I ride a 500cc motorcycle, rain or shine
and it gets 50+ miles to the gallon. And I still spend less that $10/week on gas

Until prolly next Tuesday.

15. Yes, but
Consider those of us who require pickup trucks in our work. So we bought diesel trucks when diesel was usually less than regular unleaded. And we're being screwed right along with everyone else. So, sure, I get a kick watching these folks in their Range Rovers and Hummers, but all of us are feeling the pinch.

16. if one can afford a hummer, one can probably afford the gas, even at
$5 gallon. it's the rest of us who are screwed.

18. There was a report on Market Place today about smaller cars and the
market now allowing for more of them to be made, etc.

I'd like to see it. It's one little step toward comprehensive energy conservation, but it's toward a good goal.
