George Bush's new trump card, wife Laura

With the presidents approval somewhere lower than a snakes belly, the GOP and Bush are trotting out the only person that can maybe give them all a boost, that person is Laura Bush.
With her approval rating at 78%, Laura has become more and more visible. Going to campaign stops, recently in Connecticut. Raising money for GOP candidates, making speeches on behalf of both the GOP and Bush. The GOP wants to be seen with her rather than George.
Will any of this help with the poll numbers for George? I highly doubt it. Laura is not that much of a controversial figure, but she is not seen as a towering figure either like Hillary Clinton was when she was first lady. Bottom line is while she might help with some Republican candidates, I really don't think she'll make that much of a difference. Bush and the GOP seems to think so, that's why they're trotting her out more and more. Will she give a boost to George?? Weigh in.

Guess I'm in the 12% who think she's a waste of space. I steer clear of Stepford wives whenever I can.

Hopefully, the more visibility she gets, the more others will see her for the person I believe she truly is. Remember how everyone seemed to love Babs when Daddy Bush was in office? And now, we all know her by her famous quotes (i.e., in Houston Astrodome...).

I think the photo of Laura at Coretta Scott King's funeral with that scowl on her face and her arms crossed should be on posters everywhere...

7. It's all according to Bush Script. When Poppy was in big trouble they

suddenly turned Babs Bush (the dragon lady) into a homey saint who wrote a childrens book about her dog Millie and her puppies which was all over the media for months. Suddenly, Babs was everywhere giving speeches with articles about her "home pursuits," raising puppies, her fashion statement three strands of pearls (which Mary Matalin and others suddenly started wearing) and all to take attention away from the fact that Poppy was behaving like an ass...throwing up on Japanese PM, not knowing the price of socks at K-Mart...and other idiocies.

The Bushes only know one script. Now it's Saint Laura....sheesh...:eyes:

The only reason Laura's polling numbers are good is that nobody knows anything about her. She wisely keeps her mouth shut most of the time.

There's nothing I'd like more than for Americans to listen more carefully to what she has to say.
