Nobody testifies before a grand jury just to mess with people.

5. No, because I don't think he controls Fitzgerald |
|
who comes across as a die-hard prosecutor who feels he has a duty to the People. Fitz appears to be a straight arrow; I saw the Hardball video of Rove and he didn't look like someone being carefree. Something is up; when Fitz labels someone "Official A", he's always indicted said official eventually. Fitz controlled what went on in the Grand Jury room, not Rove. Rove probably endured it because he's trying the beat the odds about being indicted.

That was the first thing that entered my mind when he was demoted. They're lining up behind Libby. Bye-bye!

8. I thought about that...but what does he stand to gain? |
|
He's certainly in for a close call...why would he lead us to believe that if it weren't true?
He stands to gain nothing by leading us to believe he is very close to being indicted.
I daren't even hope.

10. Nope, the puppeteers have squeezed all the real oil out of Iraq |
|
they sucked out all the ready oil, now it's time to discard the puppets, toss them in a discard box behind a darkened stage, and move the carnival down the road in the ever expanding search for more suckers to con, this crowd is broke and angry, and those soldiers look like they mean business.

12. No. Testifying in court can be like having your teeth pulled without |

Novocaine. Rove wouldn't go near a courtroom unless he absolutely had no other choice.

16. Fitz is the one jerking us around - Rove won't be indicted |
|
Rove has lied to him repeatedly and yet he keeps giving him chances to come clean.
He's going out of his way not to indict Rove.
If Rove is indicted now than he's the most arrogant human being on the planet.

18. The more speculation you hear about indictment the less likely it is. |
|
Fitz has made it pretty clear he'll go out of his way to avaoid an indictment.

Have made it clear that Rove has now become a "target" in the investigation and perjury and obstruction charges are on the menu.
He is in deep shit.

20. Hard to say exactly what he said at this or that party. |
|
But a Grand Jury is usually a very down-to-business bunch of folks.
I think tonight could be an 8-martini evening at Rove's place.

21. I think Fitz wants... |
|
...Uncle Dick. He's certainly the one I'd want if I were the prosecutor. We know Plame's outing traces to Cheney. I suspect this is not so much about bagging Rove as it is about securing corroborating testimony to be matched up with Libby's and used to finger Cheney as the ringleader. It may or may not involve indicting Rove. Pure speculation, but this is what makes sense to me.
